Connor watched as Aubrey stared at him wide-eyed without saying a word. He knew he had her caught out, and it pained him that he had been denied the chance to learn about his son for years.
"I don't have a daddy; I guess I was not born with one like other kids. Can you be my daddy?" Connor shut his eyes as he remembered CJ's earlier words.
"Connor, that doesn't mean anything, okay, so bye." She tried walking away again, but Connor grabbed her arm and swung her back with so much force that she slammed into his chest.
"Aubrey, I went to your house this afternoon; I spoke to CJ, and what amazes me is that he has a birthmark shaped like a heart on his neck. Aubrey, remember you teased me about the same birthmark I had on my neck?" That was the confirmation she needed. Finally, a simple birthmark revealed the secret she had been hiding for years.
