the big twist revealed

The next morning before the wedding, Ben snuck out early and went down to the local internet café where he browsed through the emails and was taken aback when he saw the email that stated Rachel having a brother, he printed of some of them for his own satisfaction as he felt there was something strange about Rachel and it seemed possible to him that she could be lying. After heading back to the hotel, Ben showed Dan the emails and told him that Rachel never mentioned Australia and it clearly states that she has an older brother which Rachel had denied in person. Dan was already in a panic about the wedding so he offered some quick advice and told his friend to just ignore these emails as he is now with Rachel Hansen and shouldn't be worrying about other things.

As the golden sun lit up above the clouds the setting was perfect for the commitment of two people to each other. Dan and Julia happily confessed their love in their vows and got married in a garden nearby. Ben had brought Rachel to the wedding as his date. After the wedding, Ben gave his best man speech at the reception, he gazed into Rachel's eyes as his meaningful words caught the attention of many guests. He did exactly what Emily had told him to do and he spoke from his heart. His speech received a critical round of applause. Dan and Julia shared their first dance together joyfully and shortly after many other couples joined them. Ben and Rachel shared their first dance together too and Ben realised Rachel was perfect and far too precious to question everyday. Emily then asked Ben for a dance and he gracefully agreed, they got along well and Emily told him his speech was tremendous but Ben knew this was only thanks to her.

The wedding drew to an end Dan and Julia left for their honeymoon and Rachel invited Ben back to her apartment for the night. They left the reception and headed back to her place. She offered him a beer and asked if he wanted to go to bed early but he didn't answer. Ben couldn't resist asking her about the emails one last time. It sprung to his mind that Rachel Hansen had previously told him her middle name was Marie and so he decided to question the woman infront of him asking her what her middle name was. Rachel laughed gently and asked him why he asked her this and Ben responded by simply asking her to answer his question,

"Its Amber" Rachel replied. Ben sat still and made Rachel confirm it once again, he then pulled the email copies out of his pocket and showed her that she told him it was Marie and she also told him she had a brother. Rachel seemed confused and grabbed the papers, she was speechless at first and told him half of the facts on these emails weren't true. Ben stoop up in a hurry and asked her why she wrote them if they weren't true but she told him she didn't remember writing them. Ben was still confused and so he asked her why she doesn't remember writing the majority of these emails, but Rachel was too busy to answer him as she looked through the dates of the emails. Rachel scoffed and asked him how he could still remember,

"Its been 3 years Ben, how'd you expect me to remember?".

Ben was shocked to hear this and informed her that they last spoke only a year ago. Rachel laughed at him thinking he was joking but after seeing the humourless look in his eye she stopped smiling,

"Ben, I deactivated my account a long time ago, it was like seven weeks after I started speaking to you".

Ben's confusion grew worse and he realised Rachel stopped emailing him after just over a month. He couldn't bear staying for another second and so he stormed out of the apartment leaving Rachel even more confused then himself.

The cold morbid weather made Utah look just like Seattle as Ben paced home talking to himself and repeatedly thinking about the past half hour and his conversation with Rachel. In his own mind he sat on the steps of the hotel staring down at the ground. After a while, Emily who was walking out of the hotel saw him sitting alone and decided to accompany him.

"What's with the face"

she asked noticing his glum look. Ben sighed and told her about how he first started talking to Rachel and now she didn't remember any of the emails. Emily looked in shock as this was the first she was hearing about Ben and Rachel being online friends. She asked to see the emails and he handed her the papers. Emily carefully examined the papers and ignored Ben when he asked her why she was so interested in reading them. Ben noticed a tear run down her eye,

"Hey what's wrong, why are you crying?"

he asked. Emily wiped the tear and leaned in to kiss Ben who was completely taken by surprise, she got up to walk away but just then she heard Rachel's voice furiously questioning why she had just kissed Ben. Emily stopped and sighed, she turned around and her tears were shown to be increasing,

"It was me Ben, I've been emailing you".

Ben looked at her in surprise, at first he thought she was joking but he knew those tears were real. Ben stood up "Wait, how can it be you?" he asked her, Emily took a deep breath and decided to tell them something she had never shared with anyone.
