A year had passed and Ben was still not himself, he would constantly check his hotmail to see if Rachel had wrote anything but deep inside he knew she was gone, he had never imagined how painful it could be to lose your hearts desire. Ben didn't take this well and drank a whole lot more then he usually would and he had also recently started smoking as he thought of it as a way to ease his tensions and relax his mind. Part of him was also sad that Dan was no longer around as much as he had left town to be with his fiancée. Early on Saturday morning Ben awoke after midday with a blinding pain in his head due to a hangover. Upon taking a shower and getting dressed he went down to the lounge to check his mail and snapped out of his lazy attitude when he saw a wedding invitation from Dan. He rushed back into the elevator and went back into his apartment. He thoroughly read through the invitation twice to confirm with himself that the wedding was taking place in Salt Lake City, Utah. His eyes widened and he hurried to switch on his laptop and scrolled through his emails with Rachel and stopped when he saw an old reply stating that she lives in Utah. Ben sat back in his chair and couldn't help but do something he hadn't in a very long time, he smiled. An idea popped up in his head, he was more then happy to go to Utah but not for Dan and Julia's wedding, but to find Rachel Hansen. Moments later, he decided to call Dan and congratulated him but this was only an excuse to confirm if the wedding would actually take place in Salt Lake City, Dan did confirm this and Ben had set his objective clear. Ben flew out to Utah a week before the wedding in hope of taking a look around before hand. After arriving he went to check in at the Hampton Hotel where Dan had agreed to meet him. Ben was guided to his room and as he got comfortable he heard a knock at the door, it was Dan. The two hadn't seen each other in a long time and Ben couldn't help but reach out and hug his old buddy. Dan went on to talk with Ben about the past years and how glad he was that he found someone like Julia who we cant wait to spend the rest of his life with. Dan then questioned Ben's motives and repeatedly asked him if he was actually here for Rachel and not the wedding. Ben stayed silent for a while then sighed and nodded "Truth be told, I wanted to be here for you guys but I'd be lying if I said part of me wasn't here to find Rachel. Dan understandably smiled and told him to look for her if that what he wanted but he also warned him "Be careful Ben, because this Rachel girl broke your heart online so who says she wont do so in person".

Ben then went out to the local internet café and researched Rachel Hansen's in Utah, he found 4 results in Salt Lake City. The first of which dragged him out to a mansion quite far out. Upon reaching it he was speechless at the gate and had no idea of what to say into the speaker when a woman on the opposite end asked who he was and why he was here. He stuttered and said he needed to talk with Rachel and the gates slowly opened and a surprised Ben walked up the enormous driveway and through the towering doors. Astounded and surprised, Ben took small steps in the hall as he couldn't believe the sight he was looking at. Before he could call out Rachel's name, a huge portrait caught his eye and he went over to examine it carefully. It was of a young blonde woman in her mid 20's holding a glass of what seemed to be champagne. "Do I know you?" a lady called out as she slowly came down the soaring stairs, she looked nothing like the girl from the portrait, "Err, my name's Ben Cooper are you Rachel Hansen?". The woman smiled and nodded whilst doing so, Ben thought to himself had he been talking to someone twice his age all those years? He was about to ask if she knew him but before he could she revealed that the girl in the portrait is her about 15 years ago. Ben asked her if she had ever talked to him online and she raised an eyebrow "Honey, I never use any of that internet technology, its too complicated for me". Ben let out a sigh of relief and laughed to himself before apologizing and leaving. That was one Rachel Hansen that he could cross off his list but there were still 3 left. Ben followed one of the results to an apartment where a guy dressed in shorts opened the door and shouted out for Rachel before walking away leaving the door wide open. A small brown haired girl then came over in just a large t shirt and asked Ben if she knew him. Ben though this was her as she looked exactly like he had pictured her, "Do you have an IM account?" he asked her and she replied with a simple yes. "Do you recall talking to a Ben Cooper in the past 4 years?", she thought to herself for a minute and Ben thought to himself that he had found her but then in an instant he realised he had gotten his hopes up for nothing once again, "No sorry ive never know a Ben".

There were 2 results left but Ben didn't have the energy to go around town looking for her as he knew it was almost impossible to find her. He went down to the tavern near his hotel to stop by for a drink. He asked the bartender if he knew a Rachel Hansen but the guy hadn't heard of her. Just then a woman who Ben had suspected to look just like the Rachel he had imagined approached him and told him she has a friend of the same name who lives just a few blocks down. She gave Ben the address and he decided to go and see if this was the Rachel who he had come to town in hope of finding. Ben got up without finishing his drink and sat in a taxi asking it to head to this address. Upon arriving Ben once again looked at the address and took the elevator to the hallway, he looked at the door numbers and knocked on the door but no one opened. He effortlessly twisted the door knob and to his surprise it opened, without thinking twice he went in and called out Rachel's name and took a look around. He saw pictures the wall and a computer on the desk. He though about looking on the computer to see if she was actually Rachel Hansen. He tried to do so but couldn't get past the password and so he gave up. As Ben looked through her mail they all stated that a Rachel Hansen lived at this address but before he could read them he was struck on the back with an umbrella. He tried to turn around and see his attacker but he was struck again this time on the face, he yelled out asking them to stop and then looked up to see a young woman dressed in a jeans and a plaid shirt. She repeatedly asked who he was and how he got in but Ben didn't answer, all he could do was gaze at the beauty infront of him. As he got back on his feet, Ben cautiously reached out and told her the door was unlocked and then went on to tell her who he was and that they talked online a while ago. The girl stared at him horrifyingly "Oh my god, you're Ben Cooper, but we haven't spoken in like forever". Ben breathed a sigh of relief, he had found Rachel Hansen. He nodded and told her he wanted to see her but Rachel was still overwhelmed with everything and so she pointed towards the door and ordered him to leave. Ben was sad as he expected a happy and welcoming response not the angry one he had just received. He walked out and strolled over to the elevator pressing the side of his head with his hand as the umbrella had forced him to bleed. But as he pushed the button and waited for the elevator, Rachel rushed after him and stopped him "Ben, hey im really sorry for hitting you but I was just really scared, I thought I was being robbed". Ben laughed and told her it was okay and his own fault. She offered to buy him a beer and help him with the bruise.

Ben and Rachel headed down to the bar and got to talking as their conversations led from Ben breaking in to the apartment to Rachel taking martial arts classes. Rachel had continuously apologized for lashing out at Ben with an umbrella. She went on to tell him how she does remember the emails despite it being a long time ago and how she was falling for him online. A part of Ben was still confused as he asked her why she deleted her account without any warning and Rachel went on to tell him, "I had some stuff to take care of and I just thought that we weren't close enough back then". Ben accepted this excuse despite thinking to himself they were very close and their relationship was more then just a few cyber conversations. After spending an hour or so talking, nightfall was just around the corner and so Rachel invited Ben back to her apartment where they kissed and spent the night together.
