Androids: Memory Deleted

CHAPTER 2

It's been about a year since Zai was built.

We haven't talked much to each other, but we've made eye contact several times already.

Today, he came up to me and asked for my name. When I told him that my name was Subject 04, he looked at me with a confused face.

He told me that it was a weird name to call me, so he said that he'll call me Fae.

Why Fae?

He said that I reminded him of the fairy in Tinker Bell. I felt a little happy to have a name now.

More androids have been made. Most of them male. Many of the female androids were a failure at the time. Male androids have been a success many times during their creation....

I was the exception.

Some of the scientists say that it was because my data chip wasn't filled to the maximum amount.

That the life I had before this one.... was gone.

It had been..... DELETED.

Mother said that if I knew what had happened in the past, my data would overflow and cause me to become crazy.

Her eyes weren't lying. It seems like that she really doesn't want me to remember my past self.

I wonder what happened?

I read more into the research conducted here; Humans believe that the totality of a human being can be separated into four parts-body, mind, soul, and spirit. Research has shown that using non-living objects only possess a 'body', but a chip can be implanted to replace the mind.

Scientists are currently researching methods on implanting a spirit and soul into non-living objects to make androids more human in nature. There are yet to be signs of such being possible.

I finally understood what they were trying to do. I researched through the archives a bit more to see if anything else was written down.
