My eyes fluttered open as the sound of cheering scientists were heard from the other side of the glass. Where..... Am I?

I touched the glass lightly, surprised to see another hand on the other side of mine.

It was a woman. 30 years old, dark mahogany hair, and an affectionate smile. She reminded me of someone I knew long ago.

"Mother?"

She seemed surprised to hear me talk, but her eyes softened and a small smile formed on her face afterwards.

A small discussion was held about the achievement for the first ever human robot made.

"It has the mind and soul of a human, but it has a body of a robot."

It was a worldwide accomplishment for scientists all across the world.

A few days later, I was able to roam around the lab by myself. I later became acquainted with everyone as I explored all parts of the lab.

I learned about what I was. An android.

Mother said that she was going to make more like me. They were going to be my 'friends'.

Two other androids were a failure. They couldn't think like me. They couldn't speak like me. They couldn't show any feeling...... like me.

While they were on the brink of giving up, a new android came to life one day. It was a boy my age. It was amusing to watch him explore around the lab for a while.

Mother asked me to take care of him, to protect him like a brother.

He would always be amazed by everything he sees. It would appear that he shows a variety of emotions, none that I've ever experienced before.

Oh, and I forgot to mention. He also calls Mother, 'Mother'.

Mother seems to have taken a liking to this boy like the other scientists. The females also call him 'cute', which makes him flustered and shy for a bit. Some of them even said that they just want to "eat him up", which I have yet to look up about what it means.

On the database, it appears that my name was changed into Subject 04. Mother gave the boy a name: Zai. Maybe mother hasn't thought of a name for me yet.....

I hope she gives me a name too.
