Childhood Best-Friends

Chapter sixteen

The next day wasn't that different, Scottie and I woke up at about 10am with no screaming kids which was a first but instead by 7 people all singing very off key to 'I wish' by Cher Lloyd which of course made us open our eyes to tell them to shut up what we found was Wayde, Layton, Nessa, Evie, Travis, Crus and Brody all standing at the end of Scottie's bed, Layton started talking as he noticed we were starting to slowly wake up

"You scared the crap outta me when I looked in your bedroom only to find an empty bed" he said rushing forward and pulled me out of Scottie's arms, I lasted a whole 10 seconds before the cool air hit my uncovered arms, legs, neck and shoulders (since I was wearing a tank and shorts because Ben and Debra had the heater on yesterday but apparently they turned it off this morning) until I had to go back into Scottie's arms under the covers, he pulled me to his chest again, immediately wrapping me in a blanket full of warmness

"You do not pull me out from under the covers when I'm wearing a tank and shorts and it's freezing outside" I warned him, I snuggled closer into Scottie's chest making him tighten his grip around my waist

"Well get up and dressed, Winter, Nessa brought some of your clothes for you to change into so hurry up, we'll be sitting downstairs, don't take too long" Wayde said, I nodded making him smirk

"We won't be that long, so start making pancakes then we can decide what we're doing for today since we don't have school for the next 5 weeks and a couple of days or some shit" I told them and immediately they all agreed and left the room so I turned to Scottie who still didn't remove his arms "Captain, I need to get out of bed so we can go downstairs"

"Yea you aren't going downstairs for a while" he said tightening his arms around my body so I was now pressed even closer to him (if possible)

"Come on Captain, please" I asked him

"Just a few more minutes, Snow... please" he asked me peeping his eyes open showing me a cute sleepy place that screamed that he wanted to sleep more

"Ok fine, but only five more minutes" I agreed with him making him smile, nod and close his eyes, I moved so I sat leaning up against the bedrest while Scottie made himself comfortable laying his head on my stomach and his arms around my torso, I ran my hands through his hair. I knew he wasn't asleep or even falling asleep because he was drawing very light patterns on my stomach using that hand he wrapped over my body pinning me to the bed.

"Alright well I don't really have anything planned that we can actually go and do today so how about a relax day, junk food and movies" Scottie says as we all finish our pancakes

"Alright well Dawn and Parker are at the part together then going to a friend's house at lunch time and coming home around 6 while our parents wanted a day all to themselves so they probley won't call us until they're leaving so we can stay here" Wayde and I said in sync, they all agreed a little weird about the fact that Wayde and I can talk at the same time and say the same thing us I guess it felt normal to us... sort of.

"What do you want to be when you get out of high school" I asked them as we're all sitting down in the living room in front of the T.V, Scottie and I are sitting sort of next to the couch on one of Scottie's massive beanbags, Evie, Brody, Travis and Cruz were all cuddled together on the couch beside us, Nessa, Wayde and Layton all brought down more beanbags from either Scottie's or my old room and were seated in front of the couch next to Scottie and I

"I want to become a teacher" they all said except Cruz who said:

"I want to become a first aider" with a big smile

"Hey that means that if we all stay around this area then we can still see each other like every day and we won't have to move away" I told them

"Yea but what are we going to do when we all have to go to college after school" Brody added

"Well there's a college about 20 minutes away from here that has apartments on site so we could go there because they cover all of the workforces including first aid, sport, teachers and social work so we can all go there" Scottie informed us, we all agreed with him and so for that entire day we sating the living room watching movies ending with breakfast club which was a really good movie and Wayde and I ordered pizza close to lunch since no-one wanted to cook at that moment. 6 o'clock came around and finally 7 minutes after 6, Parker and Dawn came through the door and joined us watching another movie then about an hour later both set of parents followed and again just like Parker and Dawn, they joined us in the living room to watch the end of the movie which was lion king.

The next day we really didn't do anything but I was thankful when Ben and Debra turned on the air-con early in the morning and were already in the kitchen with my parents when we all decided to get up and head to the kitchen

"I'm gonna go get changed quickly" Scottie said just before we entered the kitchen

"Hey Winter, guess what" Ben said as we all walked into the kitchen

"What" I asked sitting down on one of the stools that surrounded the kitchen bench

"They finally captured them, they captured the men from the orphanage" he said smiling as he walked towards me, my hands went straight to my mouth as tears escaped my eyes of the thought all of four boys locked away, I was free, at least that means I can't kick their ass's anymore, that's sad

"That's great news" Debra told us, my parents and siblings looked confused so I turned back to Ben and said:

"You fill my family in, I'm going to go tell Scottie" and all he did was nod. I raced upstairs and turned into Scottie's room, I found him as he just finished putting a new shirt on

"What's wrong, Snow" he asked turning to face me as he took a couple of steps forward so he was standing right in front of me as he placed his hands on my shoulders with concern clear in his eyes

"Ben told me that they found them, they found the guys from the orphanage and they locked them away" I told him whispering the last as I wrapped my arms around his waist keeping him close to me

"Snow, that's great news, you can finally let them go" he said "you don't have to be scared of them anymore" he added wrapping his own arms around the back of my shoulders and bringing me even closer (if possible) "I love you" he murmured into my ear

"I love you too" I murmured cuddling myself closer to him, but before I could say anything else he picked me up bridal style and walked downstairs, we walked into the kitchen and found everyone else sitting around the dining table with like 3 plates with a stack of pancakes each, so as Scottie put me down in a chair making sure that he sat down next to me, we dug into the pancakes.

"So what is everyone doing for Christmas" Brody asked

"Well I was thinking that since Brody's parents always come over each year because of the Scottie and his relationship that they can come over along with Cruz and Travis and Evie's parents while Javon and Vena so basically we're all having Christmas here" Ben explained, we all happily agreed and continued eating.
