Chapter fifteen

After 3 hours of training around the time of 6 we stopped and dropped, not really but we did go for a swim in the pool only wearing boxers for boys and bras and undies for girls, I sat down on the edge of the pool behind where everyone was in a circle talking but I was included since Scottie was standing in between my legs while I played with his wet hair that he got when he dived in, sorry no, when he jumped in

"So when do we have to preform it to the parents" Wayde asked as he was standing opposite me and Scottie

"In about 4 weeks but to be fair we've been working on it for about 5 weeks now" Cruz answered, they were a little shocked but then recovered quickly

"How did you all come up with the idea" Nessa asked

"we had to come up with a dance routine for dance class so we thought that because we would have needed a lot more dancers that we could get the whole school involved and do a performance for the parents since they could relax for a little bit" I answered combing my hand through Scottie's hair over and over again.

The next few weeks went by a lot quicker with the practice's that we had to do for 8-9 hours a week while we also still had the hockey game each weekend on Sundays. Today was the last day of the school term which is also means that today is the day that we have to perform, all of the teachers have notified the parents that they need to come in during snack so that we can get them seated then the assembly can start during period three. Right now Scottie, Travis, Cruz, Evie, Kristan and I are all in the back getting ready along with all of the other main dancers as some of the other students are showing where the parents where they can sit or are just sitting in their own seat waiting for it to start already, everyone year level is helping so from year 7 to year 12 is doing this performance and I think that it'll work... well all of us are hoping that it'll work. My parents along with Ben, Debra, Parker and Dawn were all sitting in the front row while all of the other parents are seated either next to them or behind them

"I would like to welcome all of the parents that are present today, we have called this assembly for a special reason, some of the students in my dance class have come up with a dance routine to show to all of the parents seeing as you all should be rewarded for raising such special and talented children" Mrs Carter, my dance teacher said, Travis, Cruz and I went to stand next to our teacher on the gym floor in front of where all of the teachers were sitting in front of us "my students Travis, Cruz and Winter would now like to show you the routine they've been working on for about 9 weeks now" Mrs Carter added, she pointed to Travis who took over the talking for all of us

"I hope you all enjoy this performance" he said before we got into our positions as Scottie, Evie and Kristian came and stood next to us, we got into positions for the first song which was 'all about us' by here is we. When that song finished it changed to 'down' by Jay Sean as all of the students joined us on the mini stage, all of the parents had happy tears running down their faces watching as the groups of 10-15 people at a time which was about 10 groups dancing while the rap was going, it played another song after that one which was 'here's to never growing up' by Avril Lavigne but when that song finished we all froze as the parents stood and started clapping for us. All of the student including me and my friends took a bow standing in front of our parents as they cheered us on, some even moved away from their seats to go to their child or children to congratulate them.

The night altogether was fun although that nigh instead of going back home with my parents, I stayed at Scottie's place and we stayed up for more than half of the night just talking while sitting in his bed cross-legged facing each other

"So what are you going to do when you get out of school" I asked him

"I think I want to be a sport's teacher at our school, what about you" he asked

"I'm thinking about becoming a social worker at our school, hey that means we'll be working together" I said happily, he placed his hands on my hips picking me up then putting me down in his lap, I wrapped my arms around his neck bringing him closer only to hug him but he hugged me back even tighter "in one way I'm really happy I got into that accident when I was little" I said, he pulled back looking at me confused "if I hadn't gotten into the accident then I wouldn't have met Ben and Debra and that means that I wouldn't have met you and I'm so happy that I met you" I said

"In one way I am happy that you got into the accident but I feel sorry for you uncle and aunty that died but something bad has to happen for good to follow and it did, you met me, mum and dad then Parker and Dawn" he said

"I still can't believe that after all those years thinking that I'll never have a normal childhood, I can finally start living one... with you" I said looking up at him "just promise me that no matter what happens we'll always stay together and that we'll stay in contact with family and friends" I asked, he nodded

"Nothing will stop us from being together ever and no matter what happens we'll always keep in contact with friends and family because after all we all love them" he said, he laid back on the bed taking me with him as he laid me in front of him then pulled me to his chest wrapping his arms around me

"I love you" I whispered feeling as if I can't keep my eyes open any longer

"I love you so much more" he whispered as the whole world went black and I was in dream land.
