Chapter 2

Hiya guys, thank you for reading, you all are awesome! Before you start throwing pencils at me I'm sorry. I know this chapter is ridiculously short but that's because I have exams coming up and this chapter has to be short to be effective. But I pinkie promise that I will make my next chapter longer and the story will get more dimension.

Chapter 2

My heart raced as I stared at him, his eyes were tainted with anger as they penetrated my body. Slowly he closed the door behind him as he took a step towards me. My legs were shaking as I stepped back, he came towards me again, my back hit the wall and I could feel the coldness of it through my t-shirt. I realised that there was no way I could escape. My breath came out in short shallow pants as I looked at the floor. I could see his feet inching towards me. His hand brushed my cheek and I closed my eyes. Surely he could hear my heart beat? His hand lingered on my cheek, sparks ran from his fingers to my body as I felt the texture of his calloused hand.

“Why did you run from me?” He asked, I could hear a hint of anger in his tone. I squeezed my eyes shut even more.  

“What are you doing?” My wolf shouted. “Answer him! He's our mate!”

My knees felt weak as I opened my eyes, I gasped as I saw how close we were. His body was pressed flush against me, I could almost feel every single contour of his body, his face hovered dangerously close to mine.

My eyes moved to look at his, they hypnotised me just like they had in the cafeteria but up close I could see the gold shards that swirled within the rich chocolaty brown of his eyes. He placed his hands on the wall on either side of my head, his gaze never leaving mine. Tensely I licked my lips, his eyes drifted cautiously down to my mouth, he slowly grew closer. I could feel his breath tickling my neck. Only the sound of our breathing could be heard in the deafening silence of the room. It's as if everything had stopped, in this moment it was only us.

“Stop” I whispered quietly, so quietly I wondered if he had even heard. He must have because he abruptly stopped. He looked at me with a questioning gaze.

“Why?” he asked, his hands still on the wall behind me. I couldn't answer him. What would I say? That I never wanted a mate? That I was too fucked up to even know what a relationship was? But in the deepest corner of my mind I still wanted him; I wanted his touch, his safety, his love. I wanted to be his only. But what if I lost him? 

It was this thought that caused my heart to harden. I knew my face resembled a hardened mask. I looked him directly in the eyes as I uttered the words.

“I Kaira Shay, reject you Alex Vaguer as my mate,”

Alex recoiled his arms back; his eyes turned to black and glistened as they filled with rage. My wolf let out a heart piercing scream, as I saw the hurt form quickly into anger on his face. He clenched his hands into a fist and as they struck, I closed my eyes waiting for the impact. Instead I heard the deafening crunch of broken plaster. I opened my eyes to see a hole in the wall just on the left side of my head. Blood ran off Alex's hand and dripped to the ground.

He grabbed me around the waist and pulled me against him.

“I will make you mine Kaira” he said his voice husky as his eyes burned into mine. “The fates wanted us to be together and nothing will keep us apart. I will do everything in my power to make you see that we belong together. You're mine; and I will win you over.”

 He stroked my cheek and his lips pulled up into a smirk as he winked at me, before he walked out the room leaving me alone.
