Sonic stared at me in wonderment. He obviously didn't know I could sing. I had to fight my giggle at him.

I looked to the ground and closed my eyes. The chorus was coming, and I needed to sing louder, prouder, better. If all went well, maybe Sonic would like me?

I looked up and made eye contact with the amazed blue hedgehog. He was still staring at me. It became harder and harder for me not to stop singing and hug his neck.

I began to sing the chorus once more and Sonic had grown increasingly interested in the song. Or... Hopefully, he had grown increasingly interested in me. As I began the chorus for a second time, Sonic began to smile at me.

I took in a breath between the lyrics and smiled at the ground. I tapped my toes on the floor behind me.

The song was nearing the end. It wouldn't be much longer until I'd have to leave. I grew slightly sad at this, but I was happy Sonic enjoyed my gift.

I took in one more big breath before started the chorus for the third time. Sonic was tapping his foot to the beat of mine. I tried to contain my happiness. He really was enjoying this!

The last few lyrics were coming up. I stopped tapping my foot and Sonic stopped his tapping. I took in a short breath and sand the last little bit of the song.

I finished the song and bowed at Sonic. I waited for him to clap, or something, but when I came up, he was just staring at me. "Amy..." He said softly. "That was..." He smiled and shook his head. "That was beautiful! That was the best gift ever!" He stood up and ran into my arms. He hugged me and I couldn't stop mentally squealing. On the outside, I was as cool as ice.

"Amy..." Sonic whispered in my ear. "You know... S-Since you put on such a fabulous performance, I'll let you have something." I cocked my head to the side. "Have something? What would I-"

Sonic placed a quick kiss on my lips. It lasted three seconds, but it felt like a year. I don't really remember what happened after that. I think I fainted after he ran out with a face redder than Knuckles' fur.
