Love You, Forever

PROLOGUE:

      "Hi, have you seen my kuya?" I asked some grade 1 students. I usually see kuya hanging out with them so they must be his friends. 

     Kanina ko pa hinahanap si Kuya Miggy pero hindi ko siya mahanaphanap. My stomach grumbled. I was almost in tears. Hindi pa kasi ako nakakain. Nakalimutan ko yung lunch box ko sa kotse. Wala din akong pera. Kailangan kong mahanap si kuya or else mamatay ako... literally.. Nahihiya naman ako manghingi sa friends ko ng food baka sabihin nila pulubi ako.

     "Hi!" sabi sa akin ng isang babae."What's your name, cutie?" 

     I inhaled. Memorize ko na ang sagot dito. Tinuro na kaya ni teacher. Listen! "Hi, my name is Joanne  Patrice Elizarte. I am four years old." I showed her four fingers.

     The girl in front of me smiled. She's really pretty. Paglaki ko I want to be like her.  "Hi, Joanne. I'm Ate Isha."

     I shook my head. Ayoko ng name na yun. Hindi ako sanay. "You can call me Trace, ate!" I told her.

     "Oh, sorry... Trace, we haven't seen your Kuya Miggy yet." Tapos she looked at her watch.  Her eyes widened. "Ohhh. Lunch time na noh? Gutom ka na ba?" "Isha, tinatanong pa ba yan? Ako nga gutom na oh." Sabi sa kanya ng isa nilang friend. Hindi ko maalala name niya pero madalas siyang pumupunta sa bahay. Lumuhod siya in front of me. "I'm your Kuya Miggy's best friend. Call me Chad! Don't call me kuya ha? Bata pa ako." He smiled tapos tumawa siya. I nodded. Tapos my stomach rumbled ulit. Nakakahiya!

     He smiled at me.  "I'll treat you to lunch." Tapos tumayo siya and hinawakan ang kamay ko.

     Pagkatapos namin kumain dumating na si Kuya. He crinkled his nose pagkakita niya sa akin. "Kid, bakit ka andito?"  

     "To eat. Cafeteria to diba?" I told him. He clenched his fist. Halatang piss off. I looked at Chad. I asked him to explain to my brother.  

     He scratched his head tapos tumawa siya. "Nagugutom siya tapos di ka namin mahanap so nilibre ko na siya." Kuya glared at me. Nakita ata ni Chad kaya sabi niya, "Oy! Chill lang. Wala lang to. Ikaw nga eh kung manglibre ka wagas. And besides, masaya naman kasama tong si Trace." Pinat niya yung ulo ko. "So bale sa dami ng kiniwento niya bayad na yung kinain niya." I smiled at him. Ang bait naman niya. Cute pati. I like Chad.

     I smiled at kuya na umupo na lang sa tabi ni Ate Isha.

     Nag-ring na yung bell tapos nagbbye na silang tatlo sa akin. Papaalis na sila tapos bigla kong hinabol si Chad. Tinug ko yung damit niya. Lumingon siya sa akin and he smiled.  

     "Ano yun, Trace?" he asked. I signalled him na lumapit. He kneeled down in front of me. "What's it, Trace?"  

     "Dali na Trace. May class pa kami." Sabi ni Kuya Miggy. Epal talaga tong kapatid ko. I smiled at kuya with my mouth shut.  

     Uhmmm. Bakit ko nga ba hinabol si Chad? I smiled. I looked around their classmates were lining up. Babalik na sila sa classroom nila. Yung mga teachers bumaba na. Some of them were looking at Kuya Miggy, Chad and Ate Isha na as if sinasabing 'Pumila na kayo.' I looked at Chad who was still smiling at me pero yung eyes niya nakatingin na dun sa mga batang nakapila na.  

     I inhaled. I smiled at Chad who smiled back at me. I gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you!" tapos tumakbo na ako papaalis.

Chad's POV

     Nagulat ako sa ginawa ni Trace. She's really sweet. I touched my face and smiled.  

     "Hoy! Tara na nga!" sigaw sa akin ni Miggy. Pano ba kasi naging kapatid nung cute na yun tong best friend kong masungit? Tumayo ako. Tapos pinagpagan ang tuhod ko. "Tara na!" sigaw ulit sa akin ni Miggy.
