Lapis suddenly saw a face she thought she'd never see again, or, worse, that she would. It was Steven, running to her cell with a small red Gem leading the way.
"Lapis, I can get you out!"
"S-stop!"
So many things were rushing through her mind all at once. Had she even left the ship? She couldn't remember. And how did Steven even get here? It was way too dangerous! Lapis kept protesting.
"I-If we just do what they say, they might go easy on us..." If Lapis tried to blend in with Homeworld, maybe Peridot would love her again. But did she really want that? She couldn't even tell what she was saying, but she knew her lips were moving. She didn't care.
She curled into a ball, and Steven ran off, promising to come back for her.
She didn't believe him.
