Chapter two: Lukes tale

Start from the beginning

The witch told me I that this condition made the godly world believe I was converted into a hybrid soul, which meant I got a lot of visits from angels and demons.

They'd always argue about where they should send me or whether my soul was 'pure' or 'condemned'.

But today was the first day I'd ever met a reaper.

The witch had told me all about Raven, she said one day she would fail to collect my soul and something would happen between us.

I'm certain she won't get my soul because I won't let her take it, especially after what happened with Jamie.

I've been living off the streets of New York for the past 17 years of my life. I wasn't going to quit while I was ahead, was I?

But there was something strange about her, she wasn't like the others. In fact, I had a strange temptation to let her take my soul.

I wanted to be at her command and I knew this couldn't be a common love spell as they shouldn't work on me.

Then how was that girl  all I can think of? She clearly wasn't my type but I couldn't help but see those ruby eyes in my mind and think how beautiful they were.

I'll give her that one, she knows a good love spell.

Well Raven Reaper, I'm certain we shall meet again. But I'm afraid I have some bad news for you...

I won't allow you to take me soul, ever.

Raven's POV

Today was the day, I could feel it. I was going to complete my mission, no matter who gets in my way.

I get dressed and grab my ruby scythe, leaving my bedroom.

Father had told me he wanted me to work with Leo today. Considering Satan and The Grim Reaper are best friends, I'm not surprised I'm working with his son.

I walk into the throne room and my father points down the corridor.

He thinks pointing adds more suspense, as well as staying silent.

But as the daughter of death, I don't get scared that easily.

I sigh and walk down the corridor, knowing who was waiting at the end of it.

"Well if it isn't Raven, my favourite reaper" Leo says walking towards me.

"Leo.." I mutter under my breath.

He knows this is strictly just business.

"Yeah yeah I know, were on duty" he says, using his fingers as for emphasis on 'duty'.

Honestly it's like he mocks me sometimes.

"Good then let's go"

I twirl my scythe in the air and transport us to New York.

"New York I'm back baby, I know you missed me!" Leo exclaims towards the city.

I sigh and begin walking down the street.

"Hey you know Raven, it would be a lot easier if you let me carry you while I fly around all the streets" he says, showing off the muscles he had, thinking he could flatter me into allowing him to carry my body.

I hate naïve demons.

"You know I can fly too Leo" I say, gesturing to my ruby scythe.

"Yeah but it's more fun when I do it" he says proudly as if he was some type of fancy vehicle.
