Dangerous Love

Chapter 5: Dauntless

My eyes open due to the strong ringing in my ears, light greets me with blinding hatred and it takes a minute for my eyes to adjust to my surroundings. I'm in an unfamiliar room laying in an old dirty cot which reeks of blood and illnesses. Looking around I soon see pierced faces and tattooed bodies covered in black nurse uniforms. Dauntless. I'm in dauntless, why am I here? How did I get here? I jolt up and look around frantically my eyes raking the place for an escape route.

A nurse realizes I've woken up and gives me an annoyed look before sluggishly moving towards me.
"A.." I cut her off by kicking her right in the gut causing her to hunch over yelping in pain which soon gets the attention of the other doctors in the large hospital room.

They run over to me like raging bulls but I'm quick to escape, sliding off of the cot and running around tables and their pathetic excuse of beds and finally slide in between a table and wall that's so small I can barely fit in it. I just stare out at the the doctors trying to get me out talking to me and reaching for me but it's no use, I'm to far back in the small space. My body shakes as the fear of the unknown hits me. Why the heck am I here? What were they doing to me? I don't think anything else could scare me more than waking up with a bunch of pierced demon looking people surrounding me in an odd room filled with artificial light.

"Where is she?" a strong male's voice says. Eric. Of course he's going to be here and of course he's going to want to hurt me for 'trespassing'. My figure shakes rapidly and I find myself being frozen in place as goosebumps rise on my skin in fear.
"Over here," the female doctor says and I feel my stomach leap into my throat. My heart pounds in my chest as I hear his heavy boots approach my hiding spot and I brace myself for what may come.

The next thing I now Eric is squatting in front of the table about 5 feet away from me. His eyes scan over my shaking body then finally make their way back up to my fear-filled eyes.
"C'mon Autumn," he says nodding his head for me to come out of my safe spot. I feel the urge to follow his instructions yet instead I just back up further knowing if I get out treacherous things will happen to me. Especially if Eric's here.

"Autumn stop acting like a child and get out of there!" his voice gets louder with every word as he begins to be getting angry.
"Eric," a voice warns which I recognize as Max's. Of course all the leaders must be here that means he can't hurt me right?
"I think you're forgetting she is a child," I hear Max finish in a scolding way.

I still refuse to leave my safe place and back up looking away from his cold stare. He stands and walks away and is replaced by a small Dauntless girl with a shaved head and piercings around her entire face.

She swiftly slides under the table clearly the only one who could fit besides me, she grabs my ankle yanking as hard as she can while I scream bloody murder clinging onto the edge of the table, dragging the table with him.

"LYNN!" Max yells in frustration. Then Eric slides behind the now fully exposed table, he grabs me from behind wrapping me in a cage and lifts me pulling me into his strong chest and engulfing me in his metallic scent. I thrash and scream but it still does nothing. Max goes up to Eric and tells him something incoherent to me mostly because of my failing attempts of escaping. I feel Eric's chest deflate slightly as he sighs and nods while watching all of the leaders follow Max out of the room.

He drops me and I make a run for it just to be stopped by Eric's hand tangling in my hair causing me to scream in shock and pain while falling to the cold stone ground.
"What the hell is wrong with you!?" he shouts furiously.
