CONTRACT CLAUSE:
- All parties of this contract acknowledge that there is no actual real relationship outside the parameters of the public business marriage all said parities agreed upon. As stated above, neither party is required to act in any romantic way unless necessary for public show.
- Parties, if so desire, can partake in other personal relationships as long as it is done privately and away from the public eye. And if, in the event that a real and serious relationship develops with someone outside of the agreed marriage, that party and their significant other will have to sign a document agreeing to never go public with the relationship and to keep the relationship strictly private and behind close doors for as long as the royal sons rule continues.
The clause was shocking to say the least, but also in some weird way it made the contract as a whole less frightening and the promise of not being forced into any real romantic situations more believable.
Looking over the entire contract one more time, just to make sure I didn't miss anything, I shook my head in awe. Nolan and Eleanor Sullivan didn't miss a thing in the contract. They made sure they cover everything and made sure to explain everything. Plus the fact that they made sure they had their own sons agree and sign the contract too made that much better, I silently thanked the two of them. I know they were in part making up for what their sons had done all those weeks ago and also I understood they were out of options.
If what the brothers were saying about some kind of uprising coming and all that's happened with Damon, they needed to act fast and I knew the brothers plan was probably their last hope.
Pushing up from my seat a little, I rested my elbows on my knees as I placed the paper back on the coffee table in front of me. The stress of making a decision was already starting to eat away at me, not because I wanted to help the brothers, but more because I wanted to help Eleanor and her husband. My mind kept going back to that day I met them in the dining room back at the estate and the things she said about me being her last hope and how I could help her family. I could see then she felt strongly about that and this contract lying in front of me only confirmed it further. This was her way of saying they needed me and as much as I didn't want to think about it, I realized this might have been the brothers way of saying that too.
Shaking my head I snatched the paper up again and narrowed my eyes on it; looking over it once again. This was so frustrating, one part of me wanted to rip the paper up right this very moment and yell and refuse to help them. But the other part of me wanted to sign if only for Eleanor alone.
Looking down the white paper, something I missed caught my eye. Holding the paper up to the light I noticed there was another paragraph on the backside of the contract. Turning it around I brought my eyes closer to the page and read it quickly:
In exchange for your willingness to agree to the terms and conditions of this contract your previous promise of payment will still be met. But instead of payment only being given to you at the end of your contract it will be given to you weekly and will be a handsome amount... I made sure of it. I know offering you money won't make up for everything my sons have done to you or for what my family is asking you to do now, but I promise, Amelia, that I will do everything in my power to make sure my sons keep you safe, respect you and treat you with kindness. My husband and Marla will do the same. I know the decision you have to make will be a hard one, but I want you to know that even if we didn't have the problems that we are facing now and even if there was no need for a contract, I would still be very happy to have you as part of our family even if that was only as a friend. The feeling of being alone can be hard on anyone and having people around you to help you and watch out for you, even if only because they are required to do so, can make things just a little bit better... no one should be alone, especially some one as special as I know you are.
