I sat on the cold steel bench in autumn; Canada weather sucked. The sounds of cars passing by were continuous and loud, constantly ruining my concentration. I was engrossed in reading a book on WattPad; What Vincent Wants. My nails were painted a dark lavender colour and I held my phone in my hands, swiping right as I finished each page. My light mahogany eyes moved from left to right quickly. I reached for my Tim Hortons Iced Cappucino and drank it, my eyes still glued onto my phone. No cold is too cold for Iced Cappucino's.

I sensed someone walk past me. The smell of Lavender filled the air and I looked up from my phone to catch a glimpse of a man walking past me. He was tall- probably about 6'2. He was wearing a black Armani suit that was evidently tailored to fit him perfectly and his chestnut brown hair was styled in a messy pompadour, complimenting his honey tanned skin tone. My eyes followed him until he eventually got out of my sight. I inhaled deeply and finished reading the chapter.

"Katie Cruz, truly is an amazing author."

I said out loud. I sighed and looked at my rose gold watch from Charming Charlie's. "Crap! I have five minutes to get to work!"

I quickly stuffed my phone into my black purse, grabbed my Iced Cappucino, and hopped down from the bench. "Okay Juliet you can do this. All you have to do is make it across the street, into a taxi and walk in Starbucks from the back door without being spotted. I got this." Talking to myself was something I'd do when I needed motivation. I waited for the pedestrian sign to show up on the street crosser. Unfortunately, minutes kept passing by and I was getting later and later. I looked around for a taxi, but, couldn't find any- leave it to me to have the worst luck. Pacing back and forth a Taxi finally showed up, I waved my hand in the air and motioned for the taxi driver to stop for me. The driver swiftly pulled over and waited for me to get in. I opened the passenger door and sat down.

"Oh my gosh, thank you so much for stopping! How are you doing?" I greeted the old driver who looked like he was in his 50's or so. A strong and crackling voice responded kindly as I struggled to buckle my seat-belt. "No problem dear, it's my job. So tell me, where do I drop you off today, young lady?" I smiled at him, "Just to the Starbucks on the 73rd avenue and King George Highway."

"Alright."

He started to drive and I bit my bottom lip. I was going to be late- again. "If you don't mind me saying this, could you drive a little bit faster please? I'm actually in a rush to work and I really can't be late again..." I felt rude for saying it, but, I couldn't afford to lose my job. It was a risk I wasn't willing to take. The old man smiled and laughed. I rose an eyebrow at him, "What?" I asked him curiously, whilst trying to hold back my own small giggle.

"It's just that when I was your age, I used to be late for work all the time," he said as he stepped on the accelerator and increased the speed. "My mother used to scold me and tell me how I'd never get a wife who'd tolerate me and my imperfect punctuality. But, look at me now! I have a wife who is the complete opposite of me, yet, she understands and cares for me! My darling Eva is everything to me!" I smiled at the old man. His story was absolutely adorable, and before I knew it, it was time for me to go. I reached for my wallet and pulled out a $20 bill, giving it to the man, "You're indeed a very lucky man! Have a great rest of the day," I paused and waited for him to give me his name.

"Will."

"Have a great rest of the day, Will!" I stepped out of the taxi and waved goodbye to Will as he drove off. I looked at my watch and sighed, "Claire is going to kill me. I'm the only one that knows how to spell names anyway. There's no point going in through the back door anymore either." I ran a hand through my walnut coloured hair. I smiled as I entered inside, though, I knew once I went to the back to wear my name tag, I was going to get it. Claire was probably already waiting for me. I took a deep breath and walked to the back, shutting the door very tightly and quietly.
