"ELEANOR WHITE!!!! YOU MUST BE KIDDING ME!!! YOU HAVE TO COME!!! FOR GOD'S SAKE ITS NICHOLAI'S BIRTHDAY BAS--" I swiftly hung up the phone, pressing the pads of my palm up to my ears and checking if my eardrums had shattered from the constant radioactive rambling of Ro's voice. Uhhhhhhh, I dramatically sighed, she must be kidding me after all, there was no way, no fuc**ng way would I go to that brat's birthday bash.

Ro had spent the whole weekend, pondering over what she should buy for him, the dress she would wear...etc etc.

She was never running out of innovative ideas to lure Nicholai into her trap. Provided she was from a well-off family unlike me, she had pretty much fed off the silver spoon and would stop nothing to get what she wanted.

Nicholai was her ultimate life goal. She wouldn't stop..would she?

After a life long debate, I came into a conclusion, she was going to the party no matter what, fine, it was a part of her, fame, riches, luxury and comfort. she belonged there, like a princess.

But I felt like I was out of place. I didn't belong to this world, not with mom by my side anymore. The ball, castles, princes, kisses or love, they were just an illusion, weren't they? They were just elements to infect the brain into insanity that nothing would seem right if they weren't with the one they loved.

Well, taking it into account, i assumed, I never wanted to be loved because in the end all you get is betrayal, betrayal and betrayal. Nothing follows after, just plain and painful death.

"can I get a hand out here??!!" Linda called out from the kitchen.

"coming!!!!!!" I frantically jabbed towards the kitchen arena as she slid a plate towards me through the kitchen counter.

"Chinese chopsuey for table 6"

"Chinese chopsuey for table 6 coming!" I mimicked her words, swiftly walking towards the cool AC- hall, sliding through tables and seductively presenting the awaited order on his table "Chinese chopsuey at your table sir"

I gave him the biggest smile I had buried beneath my face but got ignored instead.

"is there anything I could help you with, sir?" I slightly bent down to face him, wriggling my eyebrows if that would seem friendly enough.

From a close view, the man seemed to be nearing his 30's, clean shaven, slightly built and wore a vibrant black tuxedo.

With the flick of his hand, he sent me off, not having the courtesy of at least replying with a polite gesture. But then all this debate and testimonies all came to a halt as a question rose up, yes, who the hell were we? To demand respect from others? We were but just maids working at a local city cafe.

That was what we were looked up as...MAIDS, this was always normal though. I'd always encounter one of these douche bags almost every day but still had enough persistence not to go wild frenzy over my beloved customers if I was clever enough with the idea of loving my job.

Speaking about jobs, I would be proud enough to even call myself the queen of jobs. I worked at 2 restaurants, and a Bar at night.

Later at night I had to go attend a bar as a bartender. Life never had been easy on me. From abandonment to loans and deaths, that was what life had in store for me and I somehow had to accept that.

Stretching out my body in yoga style, I stripped down my apartment door, lazily swinging into my small, old but cozy apartment. After all the work, I was tired and felt like I was literally drained to the last drop of my energy.
