"Aaahhh! Ouch..."

Rubbing at the spot and trying to chase away the spots dancing in my vision, I blinked repeatedly against the gloom.

Seconds later, when my eyes finally adjusted, the first thing that came into focus was a broad, towering chest-packed with dense, powerful muscles that instantly made me feel fragile.

I had bumped into a man.
But how could a human chest feel so solid that it literally bruised my forehead?

What the hell?
He wore a dark sweatshirt layered beneath a thick, heavy leather coat adorned with subtle prints.

Shaking off the haze, I slowly lifted my head, my eyes tracing up his torso toward his face.

I froze.

And in that split second, my entire world ground to a complete halt.

Raven eyes, pitch black hair, cheekbones that resemble chiseled marble. He looked like a sin incarnate.

My heartbeat raced at its fastest, dangerous speed as a flash of lightning illuminated the sky and the dark London allay and my mind finally registered who he exactly was.
