Fireworks and Roses

It was February 14th and Hogwarts was having a special valentine day fireworks performance (at the request of a certain black haired, green eyed boy), meaning everyone was allowed out after curfew for a few hours so they could spend time in the snow covered grounds. Harry and Draco made plans to go on a romantic date together since it was one year ago that they got together.

"Meet me by the entrance at 5 ok? And wear super warm clothes!" Harry called out to Draco as he rushed up to Gryffindor Tower, he had to make sure everything was perfect.

At 5 o'clock Harry spotted Draco waiting at the entrance but Draco didn't see him. Harry ran up behind him and grabbed him around the waist, making Draco jump.

"You scared the living daylights out of me" he laughed. Harry loved that laugh, it reminded him of spring, all light and airy.

"I love you Dray." he said kissing Draco on the nose.

"And I you" he smiled. "So where are you taking me?" he asked.

"It's a surprise so put this on" Harry handed Draco and blindfold and after much complaining he put it on. Draco felt himself being lead to somewhere. Where he couldn't figure out.

After what seemed like forever walking in the snow (lucky Harry had told him to dress for warmth as they were spending the evening outside) they finally came to a standstill.

"Close your eyes" Harry whispered in his ear, his breath tickling his neck.

Draco dutifully closed his eyes and Harry smiled, he had never gone so far out of his way to make a date perfect before and he was nervous.

"Ok open" he whispered watching his boyfriend open his eyes slowly. Harry loved everything about Draco, from his Blonde hair and grey/blue eyes to his long delicate fingers.

"Wow" Draco exclaimed as he looked around. They were at the edge of the lake, standing on the rocky shore with a picnic blanket laid out on the grass further back, a basket and a present already sitting there. The trees were glowing around them, as if lit up by millions of fireflies, lighting the lake and snow up, the whole thing look beautiful in his opinion.

"Happy one year anniversary babe" he said pulling Draco closer towards him. Draco snuggled his head into Harry's chest.

"It's beautiful" Draco said completely spell bound.

"I'm glad you think so." Harry pulled Draco over to the picnic blanket and wrapped and blanket around them so they were both toasty and warm on the cold evening, lucky it wasn't snowing.

They ate the food snuggled up together and when it was time for the fireworks Harry brought out some hot chocolate from the basket. Draco gasped as the fireworks lit up the sky. He had never seen anything quite like it and he loved it.

Harry didn't pay attention to the fireworks, instead he stared at his boyfriend and wondered how he managed to get so lucky.

After the show Harry took a deep breath and brought a single rose out from his pocket. He handed it to Draco who was looking confused. The moment Draco touched the rose the petals opened up to reveal its full beauty. It started out white in the middle and by the time it reached the tips it was a deep red. It was utterly spell bounding. Harry knew Draco had a thing for flowers especially roses and it appears he hit the nail right on the head with this one.

Draco let out a gasp as a note fell from the folds, opened it slowly and read.

Draco

I love you with all my heart and these roses represent that. As long as I love you they will bloom.

With all my heart

Harry.

"Roses?" he asked looking up at his smiling boyfriend

"Roses" he replied bringing out an entire miniature bush full out from behind his back. And they all began to bloom

Draco looked at him with big round eyes. "I love you so much Harry" he whispered nearly in tears no one had done anything like this for him before and he loved it

"and I you Dray" Harry lent in and kissed him just as the very last firework went off.

In both Harry's and Draco's opinion the night was perfect.
