Glancing up at the multi - colored sky, Maddy quickly hopped on her horse and galloped back to her home. She led the black quarter and mustang mix into her stall. She checked all the locks on the stall and the barn doors. She ran back to her bungalow and checked all the locks there as well. Once a month, she had to lock herself inside or risk being killed.
There was a pack of three or four wolves that lived by her property. They always came around when the moon was full, but she had never seen them. All she knew was that they had killed her dog, and ever since then, she had been prepared. She ran up to her room and grabbed a knife. This was going to be another long night.
