I never know how to answer.
Maybe it's because every explanation the world gave me was never enough.
When I was eight years old, my grandmother vanished without a trace.
The authorities called it an accident.
The newspapers called it another missing person case.
The villagers only shook their heads.
No one dared to speak the words they truly believed.
That was the first time I realized fear could silence an entire community.
As I grew older, my questions only multiplied.
Why were the oldest churches built beside ancient balete trees?
Why did every province tell different versions of the same legends?
Why did forgotten caves, mountains, and islands all share the same warning?
"Do not cross after sunset."
Coincidence.
Tradition.
Superstition.
That was what everyone called them.
I called them evidence.
My name is Bagani.
I am not a hero.
I am not a warrior.
I am only someone who refuses to stop asking questions.
Because somewhere beneath every myth...
