Hinata

My stomach rose as the world seemed to fall apart just beneath me. Arms wrapped tightly around me, and before I knew it, we were on the ground. The real ground.

Surprisingly, the fall didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. My eyes averted below, and my lavender eyes were met with ocean blue ones. A blush tinted my cheeks, reality finally coming to realization.

Naruto protected me from the fall.

"O-Oh, I-I'm sorry, Naruto-kun," I placed my hands on his chest, in attempt to push myself off.

To my surprise, he grabbed ahold of my wrist stopping me in the process. "Wait. Hinata, can I ask you something?"

I stared at him. No, I stared at him hard. Finally getting the words through my head, I raised my eyebrows in surprise. "H-Huh? Oh...S-Sure Naruto-kun!" I smiled a closed eye smile, not daring to get lost in his eyes.

I heard the smile in his voice as he replied. "Thanks! So, you're friends with Sakura-chan right?"

My eyes suddenly opened. "W-What?"

"You know, the pretty girl with pink hair, gorgeous green eyes-"

"I know who she is." I cut him off rudely. "W-Why do you ask?"

His eyes rose to the ceiling as his smile grew. "Well, I've seen you talk to her, and I've seen you sit with her and Ino at lunch." His eyes met mine, and I froze. "Hey, can you ask her out for me? Or, like help me set us up? I'm sure you can talk her into it! You're friends after all, right?" His begging eyes pierced into me like a blade.

That's when my face fell.

He's just going to use me to get to Sakura.

"U-Uh..."

"C'mon Hinata! For me?" He pleaded, his eyes looking into mine for any sign of giving in.

If I do this, Sakura is probably going to hate me.

But it's for Naruto.

I forced a smile, a shaky breath leaving my lips. "O-Of course! I'll do it."

His smile broke into a grin, and before I knew it I was embraced into a tight hug. "Thank you so much Hinata! You're the best!"

"Right." I mumbled to myself, already regretting my decision.

The sounds of steps and a rolling cart caused Naruto to push me off quickly. I shrieked, surprised by his fast reflexes. I was disappointed, yes, but who would want to be seen with a girl like me on top of a guy like Naruto?

He gave me a sympathetic smile, before his eyes averted to where the very sound was coming from.

"Ah, Naruto." A deep voice from behind me said. I knew it must have been the janitor. "No surprise here." He chuckled lightly.

I snapped my head to look at him, a shy smile taking over my lips. "H-Hi. Sorry, but I think we accidentally broke the vent." I informed him.
