Ellie sighed and ran her fingers through her hair. She only got two bags, one carry-on and one checked bag. She had to conserve her space, because if she wanted to bring anything back with her, she'd have to find a way... Come up with a plan. She groaned. At least she can see her Aunt Martha and her Uncle Ben. And what was their daughter and son's names again? Lily and Josh? She shook her head. "Ellie! Samantha's here!" Her mom called up the stairs of their cute two-story home.

"Alright!" She yelled back, giddy with excitement. Her best friend barreled up the stairs, swirling around her. "Calm down! You're not the one going to Germany!" She laughed.

"I know, but my best friend is going! So who cares! And think of all the history! Remember! The Kristallnacht? The Holocaust? Think! You'll be there, seeing the place where history happened! Adolf Hitler and the Nazis! The Luftwaffe! Oh, I wish I was going!" Sam screeched. "You'll have to take lots of pictures!"

Ellie nodded. Her best friend might be a history nut, but Sam was as best as they come. "I can't wait!" She laughed, doing a dance around her room.

"Let's put on some music, and I'll help you pack!" Sam said, jumping up and down.

"Okay, how about 1D?"

"Perfect!"

Ellie shook her head and clicked some buttons on her computer. Seconds later, a file opened and she clicked on the music file. One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" poured out of the tiny speaker on her desk. "Hey, did you know that 1D's in Germany?"

"WHAT!?!?" Sam yelled. "Oops." She chuckled.

Ellie nodded. "But we didn't get tickets, so..." She trailed off sadly.

"That's such a shame! Why?" Sam asked.

"I don't know. I guess because we'll be busy visiting with Martha, Ben, Lily and Josh."

"Is Lily a Directioner?" Sam asked, referring to Ellie's cousin. (They had a friend at school named Lily, too.)

"Maybe. I don't know. We haven't talked much." Ellie said.

"Oh, dear. Is it wise to spend so much time with her then, if she isn't? Some of her non-Directioner ways might rub off on you." Sam joked. Ellie shook her head.

"I might just have to help her!"

Both girls giggled. "Hey, Ellie! Time to go!" Ellie's dad called from downstairs.

"Okay!" Ellie called back. "Just give me a couple minutes!"

"Ten minutes, no more!"

"Okay!" Ellie said, wrenching open her closet door. "How about this... And this! Oooh! And THIS!" She said with enthusiasm, laying out a sky blue longsleeve shirt, a pair of tan cargo pants and a navy blue sweater.

"Perfect!" Sam bobbed her head. "What about that emerald green shirt?" She said, pulling out a rich, emerald green 3/4 length sleeve shirt.

"Of course! And how about these jeans, and this shirt?" Ellie said, pulling out a pair of jeans and a pale pink shirt with a French Bulldog on it.

"And this shirt too!" Sam said, pulling out a shirt with the words 'One Direction Forever' printed on it.

"Of course!"

"Two minutes!" Ellie's dad hollered up the stairs. The girls snapped the suitcase shut.

"Don't forget your iPad and DVD player!" Sam said, snatching them off Ellie's desk where they were charging, shoving them in Ellie's hand carry bag. The girls lugged the bags down the stairs.

"I'm going to miss you!" Sam cried, hugging Ellie tightly.

"Me too!" Ellie said, picking up her bags after she let go on her best friend. "Bye!" She waved, as Samantha waved goodbye.
