Just a deoxyribonucleic acid sample, that's all

"Zayn." He breathed. "He never knew his mom, his dad died, you both look alike. It just clicked. That possibly he might be your long-lost brother."

"What?!" She exclaimed, sinking down on her bed. She shook her head. "Wouldn't I know?" She asked.

"Not necessarily." Josh spoke, continuing on. "If, keep in mind IF, it was Zayn, the only thing you would be able to use to determine it is by DNA, deoxyribonucleic acid. DNA is a double helix, connected to each other by strands of protein. Yet this tiny fragile strand contains enough information that it basically controls your body. It determines how tall you are going to be, your hair color, your average weight, everything. Although several factors help determine that too. Spiritual factors and environmental factors. I thought there is one more but I can't think of it right now. But it all gets wrapped up into a chromosome-"

"Thanks Josh, but I don't need a biology class." Ellie said, stopping Josh before he could continue on. Niall sighed a sigh of relief, and Josh looked offended.

"Just because I know what DNA is, and that the six most important elements are carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur, and I know that a prokaryotic cell is a cell that has no distinct membrane bound organelles, and a eukaryotic cell is a cell that has distinct membrane bound organelles, and a atom is a basic building block of matter, and matter is anything that has mass and takes up space, doesn't mean you should blow me off. Science is important!" Josh fumed. "Without science, there wouldn't be all the cures for diseases that there are now. And not to mention the fact that science discovered the atomic bomb, because they learned how to split an atom, which is so tiny it could fit over a million times in the dot of a lowercase 'i', which now that you think of it, destroyed millions of people, animals and trees when it was dropped on Japan in World War II. And trees are vital to our survival, because without them our oxygen supply, which is not straight oxygen, because that would kill us, it it O2, would quickly run out and we would die of suffocation! The human race, wiped out! Along with animals." Josh stated, recalling the long hours he spent studying his biology book. At last, studying paid off! (A/N: All scientific facts are true. These are the very facts I memorized from my biology book. I double checked each one to make sure I was right.)

"Great, my cousin is a tree hugger." Ellie said, rolling her eyes. "I'm just kidding, I agree. Science is important. But what I was saying is that all we needed to know about was DNA. But I'm glad to know my cousin is smart, and not some dumb idiot who could give a hoot about science." (A/N: No pun intended) Niall nodded in agreement.

"Can I find out?" Josh asked, a bit of a gleam in his eyes.

"Find out what?" Ellie asked.

"Your DNA. I have a test kit somewhere..." He muttered, darting out the door to his room. Ellie shook her head. Suddenly Josh popped back in, holding something in his hands. He set it down on her bed, rubbing his hands together gleefully. Ellie backed up, into Niall (It was an accident!).

"I'm not so sure..." She murmured to Niall. He frowned.

"It's okay. You'll be fine." He said awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck.

Later ~ "All done! Now we just have to get Zayn's and we'll compare!" Josh announced.
