Adisa

Where the hell was Denny and that background check? I was positive it would hold all the information my brothers needed to see that this was some Formula one obsessed woman who probably thought she knew everything about me and plotted this whole "accident" in an attempt to get close to me or something even more asinine than that.

Then I could finally deal with this situation properly, by putting her in prison for reckless endangerment, stalking – hell I'd try to add attempted murder to the charge too.

"Adisa, calm down," Kayo said in that tone. The tone he'd been using with me ever since I woke up from my 2 month coma after the Singapore grand prix 9 months ago. It was like he was trying to talk down a rabid animal about to attack. And if he wasn't literally my other half I would have torn him to pieces ages ago.

"You'll have your answer soon. Denny just texted and said he was on his way." He bent forward slightly, clasping his hands in front of him. "Listen, I need you to be open to the possibility that this really was all just an unfortunate accident."

I stopped striding up and down the living room and stared Kayo down. "How many times do I need to tell you she did this intentionally, Kayo. You more than anyone should know how they are." And he should, his twin brother was a big shot NBA player and everyone wanted something from him. But then again maybe he wouldn't get it.

Thankfully, Kayo never had anyone waiting naked in his hotel room before, with a knife in their hands begging him to screw them or they would stab themselves.

"I do know how they can be and I know you're thinking about that woman who broke into your hotel right now, but not everyone is her Disa. You know she wasn't mentally stable."

I threw my hands up in the air, "Maybe this one isn't either."

Jelani decided to butt in then. "Me and Kayo both talked to her, Adisa. She felt really bad and you heard what Doctor Freeland said, she literally had a fainting episode while driving." He shook his head, sympathy for her flashing across his face. "Its not exactly something you can plan."

I inhaled deeply trying to calm myself down with the skills my mandatory therapist taught me. Being in Medical school turned Jelani into a bleeding heart with situations like this. I knew that but I still couldn't stop myself from opening my mouth.

"You're not equipped to know whether this is really or not Jay. You're still in school and besides she could be a great actor, we know next to nothing about this girl."

The air in the room suddenly felt thick like a heatwave had moved through the city at lighting speed. Jelani stood from the sofa and went out the front door, a minute later they heard his car pulling out of the driveway.

"Damn Adisa, you really know how to empty a room," Kay leaned back, running his hand down his face.

I sighed and went to sit down on the vacant spot Jay had left. I'm such an idiot, letting some random woman come in and create animosity between me and my brothers. I really need to get a grip.

"I'm sorry." I told Kayo. "I shouldn't have said that and I shouldn't be letting some unhinged woman come between us."

Kayo stood up and came to sit next to me, placing his hand on my shoulder. "You still don't get it, do you? This isn't Kiara, this is about you and how you've been since your coma D. You're so angry, and rightfully so, and you can take it out on me all you want. But not on the rest. Ok?"

He stood up when he saw that I wasn't going to reply to that, sighing, "I'm here for you Disa, always. "Remember that." Then he left the room too, leaving me alone with my thousand of overwhelming thoughts.

It would all be over soon, Denny would come with proof that she was an obsessed fan and my brothers would see. Right? Because she's fine, I didn't hurt her. She didn't die. She fainted behind the wheel from exhaustion or so she claims. And even if that was true it wasn't my fault I didn't cause that. Not like.... I shook my head, clearing the memories from my brain.

I pulled out my phone to call my accountant, making sure to have 50k on standby to bribe her with to make sure this didn't hit the press.

Authors note:

It's so funny how one thing can happen and someone else will always see it differently to how you do. For instance a friend and I argued and I saw everything she had done as inconsiderate and mean while she genuinely believed that there were opportunities for us all to succeed. Still they saw my point of view and apologised and I apologised for going to the max and not attempting to see what she saw before hand

Moral of the story is, everyone's different. Take the time to learn why if care enough. If you don't keep it pushing and remember that 99% of how people behave has nothing to do with you.

We tend to be a conceited species at times.

Hope you liked hearing from Adisa.

With all my love
