Nakangiti akong bumaling nang makaramdam ng may biglang bumulong sa tainga ko.
"Hi," Ryx greeted with a soft smile on his face, holding a bouquet. Napanguso akong tinanggap iyon. "Congratulations."
"You didn't have to," ani ko habang nakatingin sa bulaklak na hawak. This was actually the first time I received flowers, now that I've realized it.
Kakatapos lang ng Dean's List Awarding Ceremony namin. I was outside waiting for Kio when he showed up.
Akala ko ay busy siya lalo na't kasali rin siya sa committee ng department namin. Not to mention, he's also a Dean's Lister... nangunguna pa. 1.06 ba naman ang GPA.
"Wala akong bulaklak," sabi ko sa kanya nang mapagtanto.
He chuckled and pinched my cheeks. "No need, love. I really want to give that to you, you've been nervous about this, after all."
My eyebrows raised instantly because of what he said. "Kasi naman! Hindi naman ako si Eryx Jazer na pinanganak na Dean's Lister."
He chuckled. "I was nervous, too. What if you suddenly leave me because I'm dumb?"
"Thank you sa notes at reviewers, ha," I said sarcastically rolling my eyes.
Ngumisi siya sa 'kin. "Don't worry, I've already compiled all my notes and reviewers for second year, too,' sabi niya na parang bargain para hindi ko siya iwanan talaga.
Ngumuso ako sa kanya. "Ayoko pa mag-aral agad ulit."
"If you say so... let's go home, alright?"
Kio:
oo na, wag mo na akong i-text na nauna na kayong umuwi ni ryx dahil alam ko na
Xiel:
This is Ryx, Kio. He's currently eating and asked me to reply, but he told me earlier that your friends are coming to pick you up. Congratulations, by the way.
Kio:
Thanks, Ryx! My friends are already on their way. I'll head out as soon as they arrive. If you want something else (more formal, more emotional, funnier, longer, etc.), just tell me!

Natatawa ako habang binabasa ang palitan ng messages ng mga kaibigan ko at ni Ryx. Hindi kasi ako maka-reply kanina dahil ang sarap ng matcha cookies na binili niya.
Unfortunately for my friends, I'd eat matcha first before replying to them.
Hindi rin mawala sa isip ko no'ng umamin ako sa kanila. I was also nervous that time, but something just kept telling me that there's nothing wrong with it, and that they'd accept me anyway. Which is what happened, really.
And I couldn't be more grateful.
Si Kio, alam ko namang alam niya kaya hindi na siya nagulat. The others... well, they weren't expecting it, especially Everett, but he was just shocked. Nakakatawa pa dahil ang first impression niya raw kay Ryx ay suplado at tahimik.
