Lad And Dame

Let's strap our weary sandals,
and leave for someplace good,
pack up some food and candles,
and fresh juice if you could.

We'll leave home by the morning,
when clouds blanket the sun,
mild breeze but no storm warning,
it's time to have great fun.

You couldn't get a matchbox?
We'll snap a star and light the wick,
No worries if we don't have cement and blocks,
we'll build a shelter from ice cream sticks.

Dawn breaks, I hear mom calling,
can hear my stomach's voice,
to end this game feels appalling,
she's cooked my favorite rice.

I hope you liked this new game,
our wondrous park runaway,
we shall do it tomorrow,
again we lad and dame.
