Twenty Four Minutes

89 12 11

A long day,
clock's misdemeanor,
dry eyes and dead interests,
like a leaf heated black under the summer sun.

Waiting for the hands to meet,
for the lecture to dismiss,
that moment second hand touches the minute hand,
and says softly in minute's ear,
I guess we'll be alone in each other's company,
riding on the slow elephant of the hour,
we'll share our moments for a second each minute,
a minute each hour,
Twenty four minutes a day,
those will be totally ours!
