I sat in the back of the Car with Shelby's little sister, Carey.

"La la la, la la!" She hummed along with the Magic School bus, smiling and as happy as ever. I out the back window. We slowly pulled up into a driveway. As we parked, many families walked with a book in their hands called a bible, they all clutched it to there chest, afraid to have it ruined by the rain.

The car made a click noise and we jumped out. The grass was soft from the rain and water came to the surface whenever we stepped in it. I looked up and it was a small church for only about 30 people. There was a big cross on the very top, and stained glass windows of people.

"Who are they?" I said, pointing to the windows.

Shelby rolled her eyes, "That's Joseph and Mary holding baby Jesus when he was born." She said pointing.

I understood, it was something religious people do nowadays.

We made it to the steps and came to the door. There were four simple gold lined words that were printed, " In God we trust" it read. The only time I've ever seen that phrase were on he dollar bills.

Shelby turned the handle and we walked in.

The crowd of people turned heir heads and smiled, one by one they got up to greet me, I smile and said a simple hello. Sarah's family wanted to sit in in the front row. As we walked to the front, the music stopped playing and all eyes were on us. Once we sat down, the music began an everyone started to sing again.

During the middle of the service, Shelby looked over at me and smiled. I might be warming up to her finally, I smiled back, trying I be as friendly as possible.

She doesn't understand, last night when she questioned me in the fields about why I was in her room, I--I.. couldn't answer. There's no way she would believe me. No one ever believes me, so what's the point of trying to explain?

Humans don't ever understand.
