Lydia's POV

"Im so glad you're home !" My mom was the first to greet me once I got off my plane. Cameron, Sierra, Chloe, and Aaron stood behind her patiently waiting. Once my mom let go of me, I was tackled in a hug by my older siblings. "You are never going that far again." Cameron was tearing up. He was so emotional all the time.

"Actually, after senior year Im going back. I have amazing friends there and an amazing home. Chicago is my home now." Cameron and Sierra looked so hurt. That's just because they didn't understand.

"No Chino is your home." My mom looked at me with so much anger. "No its not. Not anymore. Just because it's where I grew up, doesn't mean that its my home."

"Okay lets not fight. You just got back, how about we just go back to the house and have you settle in until dinner." Chloe interrupted. I gave her a small smile, thanking her.

Chloe and Cameron lived in LA but they also had a house right by mom's. Just to be closer to "home".

Once we got to the house, I went up to my old room. The walls were still painted pink, and the bed was made. Sat on my desk was a picture of me and Matthew. We were at the beach. I sat on his shoulders as we smiled at the camera.

I remember it like it was yesterday. But it wasn't yesterday, it was a year ago.

I threw the picture in the trash. It didn't mean anything to me anymore.

I was only gone for three months but my room didn't feel like my room anymore. It felt like a strangers bed. It smelled like vanilla, I used to love vanilla. But now I hated it, it reminded me of Matthew.

I can't handle this room. Its filled with everything that reminded me of him, that reminded me of that night. I hated it. It burned my eyes, made my throat dry, and made my hands shake.

Why did I ever have to fall in love ?

"Hey Lydia." There was a soft knock on the door before Johnson walked into the room. "Johnson !" I didn't hesitate at all. I wrapped my arms around him as if I let go he'd disappear in thin air.

"I've missed you." "I've missed you so much Ly you don't even know. We all have." Johnson smiled at me once he let go.

"I need your help Jack." He gave me a puzzled look before nodding for me to go on.

"I need to change my room. It reminds me of him and that night."

Johnson nodded understandingly, then he raced downstairs. I followed behind him.

"Where are you two going ?" My mom asked as we passed her and the others in the living room. "Shopping." I glanced at the people sitting on the couch. "NASH ?" I jumped on to the boy who was like my brother only expect his eyes were bright blue.

"Lydia." He breathed into my hair. Nash was one of the only people that was there for me the night Matthew took my heart and just stomped on it.

I invited Nash to come along with but I could already tell he felt uncomfortable being around Cameron, so instead we made plans to see each other in a couple days.

Jack and mine's first stop was to the hardware store, to buy new paint.

After that we went to a bunch of different stores I didn't really care to remember where we went. I just wanted a new start.
