"Shall we?" She asked looking at him but before they walked in, he seemed hesitant "What?"

"Just know that you are still my daughter, no matter what... and if anything happens, I do wish you'd still feel like you can come and tell us if something is wrong, we are still your home."

Her throat tightened at his words. She didn't know how much she needed to hear them until now. Erik leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead

"Shall we?" Isabelle repeated, tears glistening her eyes and he nodded with a soft smile

The sight of Isabelle nearly undid Klaus.

Her face met his with a small, nervous smile that ruined him entirely. His jaw dropped, his heart thudded against his ribs. Every ounce of restraint he held broke under the weight of her beauty and what she meant to him. The sharp fragments that spread inside his heart whenever he thought she almost walked to his brother instead of him

He didn't move as she approached but there was something in the way he watched her, something that felt like control slipping, even for him. Her heart treacherously dropped as he kept staring at her like she was the only woman he ever found beautiful in his lifetime. As if she hung the moon and the stars.

Her movements were graceful, yet there was tension in the set of her shoulders and the slight trembling of her hands. Still, Klaus couldn't tear his gaze away. She was stunning, a vision that made the rest of the room blur into insignificance.

Klaus noticed her hands as he reached for them. They were cold, trembling despite her best effort to hide it. His thumb brushed over her knuckles slowly as if to warm them, though he said nothing

She didn't know it yet, but he would walk through fire for her, without hesitation. He would carve out his soul if she needed it

"Isabelle." The elder's voice called pulling her back and she blinked and turned to face him with a frown. "Repeat after me. "Do you swear to honor him, to be faithful and true—"

The elder began to speak but Isabelle heard none of it. Her stomach knotted tighter and her lips pressed together.

"Isabelle." The elder softly and she realized she had missed her cue, though her facial expression remained composed and cold

"Yes." She said with a nod. "I swear it."

When the final words were spoken, the elder's demanded. "Seal it with a kiss."

For a moment, Klaus froze as his eyes flickered to her lips before he looked back at her eyes. Then, slowly, he bent down and the ceremony ended with a kiss- quick, perfunctory, barely brushing lips

Around them, the crowd cheered, voices rising, but in that moment, Isabelle heard none of it. Only the sound of her own heart and the faint warmth still left on her lips.

The celebration was loud, filled with laughter and music and the villagers danced. Isabelle smiled politely as one family after another came to congratulate her and Klaus

"You were wonderful, my darling. I'm so proud of you." Her mother kissed her cheek softly

Rebekah clutched her hand, nearly bouncing with excitement. Kol, of course, teased Klaus and even Elijah offered a quiet nod of congratulation, though Isabelle could see the hint of sadness in his eyes

And then there was Mikael. He approached slowly, his eyes flickering between Isabelle and Klaus. He said nothing cruel but Isabelle could feel the bitterness rolling off him. His smile was strained, his hand on Klaus's shoulder heavy.
