Hayden

My fingers rest against my lips as I try to keep the smile off my face. Watching her so nervous around us, petting her cat in a self soothing manner every time her eyes lock onto mine.

Her bags sitting in my trunk give me more satisfaction than I could imagine. If she really thinks she's going to slip away from us after two days in our home she's lying to herself.

Zane peeks over his shoulder at her, and she bites her lip as she stares out of the window. "So, what should we do tonight, sweetheart? A scary movie? Maybe a pillow fight?"

She rolls her eyes even as the blush spreads across her cheeks. "I'm just going to sleep, I agreed to stay here for a couple nights but that's it. This doesn't mean we're.."

I raise an eyebrow, narrowing my eyes on the mirror as she glances up at me. "Doesn't mean we're.. what? Together?" I say softly, her shoulders shrugging as she cuddles Willow closer like a shield. Her stubborn attitude sends warmth through my chest, her attempt at putting space between us is so cute.

Zane smirks as he turns back to her, leaning over to pet the purring lump in her lap. "I'd say after last night I feel pretty together, don't you Hayden?" He asks quietly, his voice deepening and I feel it just as much as she does.

Our eyes meet again in the mirror, hers narrowed and icy even as warmth spreads across her face. My cock twitches in my pants just as Zane looks over at me, his eyes trailing down to my lap before flicking back up to mine.

"Yeah, I feel pretty together." I say quietly and he smiles at me, a genuine smile that he turns to give to Serena too. And I love the way her eyes widen, watching her throat work as she swallows nervously.

Zane hums happily as he pets Willow while his eyes burn into hers. "Just two nights? I guess I'll need to work harder to convince you."

I pull the car into the driveway, shutting off the engine and turning fully to her. "You've been followed for weeks now, even to your own home. But have you seen them here?"

She exhales before shaking her head slowly, "No. only when I'm alone or in large groups, like that party."

I peek over at Zane who watches her with no emotion. "What do you mean? What party?" He asks quietly, brushing his thumb over her knuckles when she doesn't respond.

"The night you found us... in the room. I had seen the one with the mask when I was walking outside." She finally looks up at me and I know what she's thinking about. When I held her against the door while feasting on her sweet pussy.

"But not when you're with us?" Zane repeats, making his point clear and she shakes her head again. Petting the cat in a rhythmic manner.

"Then you're safer with us, whether you like it or not." I tell her softly, placing my hand on her knee and squeezing gently. "Let's get you two inside."

Stepping out of the car I watch as Zane opens her door and holds his hand out. She takes it hesitantly, gripping Willow to her chest with the other hand and something about her trusting us enough to bring her here spreads warmth through my chest.

Grabbing her bag from the trunk I follow behind as Zane leads the way to the door. Once inside we set up a spot for the cat immediately, and she jumps right out of Serena's arms to start sniffing around her new home.

"She likes it here already." Zane walks up behind me and the skin on the back of my neck prickles. He's been different lately, throwing out causal touches and soft smiles. Maybe she's changing us both.

Serena watches us closely as Zane leans his chin on my shoulder, my heart rate kicking up at the intimacy.

"Is there a spare room I can use?" Her voice is small as she tugs at the hem of her shirt and I decide to have pity on her, just this once.
