Serena
My bare feet pad quietly down the cold hallway, my arms wrapped around myself as I walk toward the living room where the guys are sprawled out on the couch.
Hayden's head lifts the second I turn, his eyes raking over me in his shirt and sweatpants. His long sleeve shirt is rolled up on his forearms, leaning forward with a slow smile curving his lips before he wipes it away.
"You hungry?" Zane asks, his voice low and calm. His black compression shirt clinging to his muscles and I shake my head, picking at the hem of my shirt as I glance around nervously.
I expected it to feel cold in here, but it's decorated comfortably. Warm tones and rich wood settling me as a fire goes nearby.
"Come on, when did you last eat?" Zane presses as he narrows his eyes, watching every inch of my face like he knows I'll lie.
Sighing hard I look up at them, both watching me while looking so comfortable and I couldn't feel more out of place.
"I don't know, eating isn't something I keep track of." I say honestly and Zane's jaw ticks. "It needs to become a priority, let's order something. Pizza? Chinese?"
The second I think about the hot fried rice and egg rolls my mouth waters, Zane clearly seeing something in them because his eyes flash as he whips out his phone. "Chinese it is."
"No I'm really okay I-" I start but Hayden speaks up. "Just let us feed you, then you can go to bed. I can hear your stomach growling from here." He raises an eyebrow, daring me to argue but I don't have the energy.
Finally walking toward them, they sit up on the couch and adjust as they make room for me. Right in the middle. I roll my eyes, plopping down into the cushions and making myself as small as possible.
"Are you okay?" Hayden asks sincerely and I take a deep breath. "Yeah, as much as it freaks me out I don't think this guy, or guys are actually going to hurt me. He's had the opportunity multiple times. I just think.."
I take a shaky breath, looking up and meeting his light blue eyes and his lips part slightly. "I think maybe he likes scaring me. But I don't know why."
He opens his arms and I watch him closely, my hands shaking as I crawl over to him and lean into his side. Wrapping his arms around me he squeezes me tightly, the warmth and security of his strong hold settling me instantly.
I open my eyes, Zane's already on us as he smiles lightly. The normally dark and guarded air about him seeming to disappear as he watches us. The look he gives sends a warm sensation through my chest, seeing something softer in him that he normally keeps hidden deep down.
"You're safe as long as you're with us, sweetheart." Brushing his hand down my leg, he settles on my ankle as he shows me his phone. "Chicken fried rice and egg rolls?" He tilts his head, smirking at my slightly shocked expression.
"How do you know-" He leans in and I gasp sharply, his hand brushing down my cheek and tipping my face up to meet his. "We know everything about you."
I can't help the blush that spreads across my cheeks, his breath fanning across my lips with every exhale he lets out.
"Almost everything." He leans in, pressing a soft kiss to my lips and my eyes flutter shut. Kissing me gently, his hand holds my jaw firmly. Keeping me in place as Hayden's hands tighten around my shoulders.
"Now, what else do you want?" He asks, leaning away and I'm almost disappointed.
After ordering we don't have to wait long, the door bell ringing only fifteen minutes later. The smells coming from the paper bag wafting up to my nose and I snatch it out of Zane's hands.
