"You think you get to make that choice? I've already decided that you're mine. You've already managed to get under my fucking skin. You belong to me. Doesn't matter how much you fight it, how far you run. I will always find you. Every. Fucking. Time."
I yank my hand free, bolting through the door and into the crowd once again. I can't do this, I can't let myself feel like this for them. I'll only end up hurt and alone. Sniffling I run to my locker, shoving my books inside and grabbing my keys before slamming it shut.
Making my way to the parking lot I gasp as the cool, brisk air hits my face. Sliding into my car and shivering bone deep as I start it up. I just need to get away from it all. Zane, Hayden and my own desperation.
I blare my music as I drive, letting the melancholy rhythm echo in my heart. Maybe I should just quit, leave school and live with my dad until I can get my own place. I'll just work and sleep, maybe get a cat?
Glancing in the rearview mirror again, my eyes flick back up as my stomach plummets. A sleek, black bike trailing behind me and getting closer.
No, not again. Not right now.
For once I curse myself for not taking either of their numbers, considering calling my dad but he'll be away for work until Monday. Fuck. Fuck fuck!
His engine revs as he approaches, the black helmet concealing his face and I lose a bit of my own sanity. Slamming on my brakes, I watch him almost tip all the way forward to stop himself from smashing into me.
I can't keep doing this, I won't play this cat and mouse game with him tonight. And I've lost all thoughts of self preservation. Digging in the center console, I grab the small pocket knife I took from my dad's garage and shove it into my pocket.
Holding it tightly, I take a deep breath and force myself out of the car. Slamming the door shut as I stare angrily at the black visor like I'll be able to see through it if I try hard enough.
His head tilts, the engine still rumbling under him as my heart pounds steadily in my chest.
"What do you want!" My voice shakes as I yell, trying to sound much braver than I feel. Shivering when his hand slowly raises to point right at me.
"You." His voice is low, muffled by his helmet which only frustrates me further. I need to know who the fuck this is. I curl my fingers around the cold metal in my pocket tightly, stepping back when he swings his long leg off the bike and starts to walk toward me.
I whip out the knife, seeing him falter for a moment and I watch his every movement. "Stop fucking following me, or I swear to god I will fuck you up!" I yell sounding completely deranged
My blood runs cold at his deep, crazed laugh. "You think that's going to stop me? Hurt me?" I gasp when he lunges forward, grabbing my wrist and hitting it against my car. The clank of the knife falling to the ground sounding off like an omen.
I shove at him, trying to run and he catches me instantly. His gloved hands yanking mine behind my back and pulling me into his chest. I stare up at him, my breath trapped in my throat as my face reflects back at me in the black visor. Every muscle in my body locking up tight, trying to loosen his grip but he only pulls me in tighter.
"Let me go." My voice is steadier than I feel, my heart pounding as sweat beads on the back of my neck. And I don't understand why my back arches into him further, pressing my tits into his chest.
His other hand tangles in my hair, yanking my head back and I cry out before glaring at my own reflection. "I will never. Ever. Let you go." I feel his hard length pressing into my stomach and I gasp sharply. His answering groan sending chills down my spine, my pussy clenching and I grind my teeth.
My eyes lock onto the knife on the ground, so close. I pinch my eyes shut, tugging my hands lightly and he lets go. The helmet tilting as he watches me place my hands on his chest, sliding them up and over his shoulders. His muscles bunching with every move I make.
I shove him suddenly, catching him off guard and he stumbles back with an angry snarl. Lunging for the knife, I snatch it up and swing as I spin around, the blade catching on his large bicep and heels out a seething hiss. A large gash in his black long sleeve seeping with red.
"Stay the fuck away from me!" My hands tremble as I clutch the knife tightly. Pointing it right at him as his head tilts towards me in an unnatural manner.
He laughs darkly, clutching his arm as I hold the knife out in front of me shakily. "You're perfect." His deep, husky voice grits out. His hand squeezes the wound, letting out a pained grunt as blood seeps over his black gloves.
Watching me closely, he takes one step back. "You can run from me, cut me, and scream until your lungs give out." He holds his hand out, watching as the blood drips from his gloved hand. "But you will never escape me. I'll always be watching, waiting until you finally stop running."
He swings his leg over the bike, the roar of the engine making me jolt with the knife still firmly in my fist. With one last tilt of his helmet, feeling his eyes take me in before tires screech on the pavement as he takes off and disappears into the darkness.
I bolt for my car, getting in and locking the doors before turning the key with more force than needed. There's no way I'm staying alone tonight, not after his threat to always be watching. I pull out my phone and call Jade.
She answers on the third ring sounding flustered and confused, "Hello? Serena are you okay?"
"Jade, listen I need to come to your place tonight. I know it's sudden I just, my dad's not home and I don't want to be alone." I sound frantic, trying and failing to hide the tremor from my voice.
"Okay babe what the hell happened? Are you okay?" I close my eyes tightly, forcing myself to take a slow breath so I don't terrify her. "Listen I'm.. not home tonight. That guy I've been seeing? I'm at his house and it's like an hour from campus. But I could leave now and meet you-"
"No, it's fine. I'll be fine I'm sorry, I just need to get a grip tonight." I laugh tightly, my stomach souring and not wanting to ruin her night for her. "But could you do me a favor?"
"Yes, anything seriously." Sighing, I rest my head against the steering wheel with a small oomph. "Do you have Hayden's number?"
