"You're right, fuck this." I say darkly, snatching the shot out of her hand and she smiles wickedly as I toss it back. "You can always play the jealousy game too, Rena." Hayden leans down as a blonde says something in his ear, his eyes never leaving mine.
About 6 shots later we're dancing and laughing loudly, our bodies rubbing together as we gyrate to the music when Jade leans in suddenly. I wrap my arm around her neck. The alcohol making me feel floaty and free.
"I don't think they like my hands on you." She giggles and I bite my lip, looking up to see both of them watching us. Their bodies are tense, glaring as they watch her hands gliding down my lower back and up again.
"Let's make them jealous." Jade whispers and I nod, pressing my ass into her hands as we grind to the music. The girl tugs on Zane's shoulder, but he doesn't even flinch. Too absorbed in watching as my body rolls into Jades.
I spin around, her eyes filled with humor and I lean in, brushing my lips against her lips softly and she grabs my hips tighter. Her lips are soft, tasing like cherries and my eyes flutter shut for a moment.
"I can't." I say and she nods, "Just pretend, they're going crazy." And I do, turning so the back of my head is facing them while we press our cheeks together.
"Oh uh, he's coming." She says and I don't look. "Are you okay here? I need air." I ask and she nods enthusiastically. "Yes, I need to find someone to ride now." She laughs loudly.
My brain is a little fuzzy as I pull away from her, pushing through the thick crowd and heading to the back doors. The cool air is like a harsh slap, prickles covering the skin on my arms and legs and I let my hair down in loose waves to help warm me up.
I don't know what the hell I'm doing, why I even care enough to want them to feel jealous. I'm not theirs, and they aren't mine. The alcohol is making me do stupid shit, it has to be.
Turning around, I hadn't realized how far from the house I'd strayed. I start to walk back, the cool air nipping at my skin as the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
I swallow, looking around but not trying to seem obvious. I feel them, a pair of eyes on me. A twig snaps behind me, and I whirl around looking through the trees beyond the house and seeing.. nothing. Shaking my head at my own paranoia I make my way back to the house.
Another crack sounds off behind me and I whip around, trying to steady my breathing when I swear I see someone farther out. My eyes widen when I see that skull mask. Him.
I turn, walking quickly back to the house and rushing into the back door. Everyone's eyes on me for only a moment before turning away. Fuck this, I need to find Jade and just get out of here.
I make my way through the tight kitchen, looking around before spotting Jade and making a beeline for her. And I'm almost there when someone grabs my hand, yanking for me to follow behind them. I stare at Hayden's back as he pushes through the crowd, girls looking at us in shock as he pulls me behind him.
Shoving us into a dark room, he slams the door shut and turns on me instantly. I'm pressed to the wood, my eyes wide and locked onto his normally kind gaze. Though now, it's full of heat and anger.
"Where did you go?" He says darkly and I swallow. The look on his face keeps me from my usual bratty remarks. "I.."
Do I tell him? Let him do what he wants and protect me from this stranger?
"We're you with someone?" His voice is strained, his muscles bunched tight and I shake my head before my anger swings back in suddenly.
