Hurrying out of the car, I slam the car shut and run to the front door. Fumbling only a moment with the keys before getting them in the deadbolt and rushing through.

Just as I get the door closed, I hear the low growl of the bikers engine. Peeking through the small window in the door, I watch as he rolls up to the curb in front of my house. His helmet facing my car, then the front door.

My breathing halts, and I swear he's looking right at me. Even that far away.

Just as I'm about to open the door and yell at him to fuck off, he slowly pulls off and down the street.

And as much as I wanted to shake it off, tell myself it was some fucked up coincidence. I know he was watching me, and that dread in my stomach turn into low butterflies.

I smack my forehead, trying to gain some braincells as I mutter to myself. "Horny for a random biker who followed you all the way home, nice Serena."

The lecture hall was buzzing with chattering voices, iced coffees swishing and girls primping up while they share plans for the weekend.

I stare straight ahead, exhausted both mentally and physically. After the crazy guy on the bike chased me all the way home, I couldn't decompress enough to get any real rest, it's been that way for a few days actually. I yawn hard, stretching just as a girl plops down next to me.

Her hair is long and black like mine, waved slightly with small pieces of stark white bleached into it. Her nose, eyebrow and lip are all pierced, tattoos going up her forearms and cutting off at the blazer rolled up to her elbows.

She digs around in her black bag, grabbing a book and slapping it onto her desk. The whole room turns their head to her, and she raises her eyes slowly arching a brow.

The second she does, the whole class whips back to what they were doing. Like she's Medusa and will turn you to stone if you meet her eyes.

Finally looking at me, her dark brown gaze is cool and assessing. Seemingly deciding something, she takes a breath and turns back to her bag.

"I'm Jade. You don't look quite as pretensions as everyone else so I'll take a chance here." Meeting my eyes again, she raises her brow with a slight curve to her dark lips.

"Well?" She waits and I shake off my dumbfounded expression. "Serena." I answer and she smiles bigger this time.

"Well hi Serena, you're new right? And is your tongue pierced?" She asks cheekily and let out a small laugh before sticking it out to show her my barbell. "Yeah, I am. And yes, this hurt like a bitch, it was my third piercing." I shrug and she nods like she understands.

"What were the first two?" Her head is still buried in the bag when I bite my lip and lean in closer to whisper.

"My nipples." Her head shoots back up, looking at me with a dumbfounded expression this time before taking me again. Seeming to have changed her mind about her maybe friendship.

"Okay yeah, I like you. You're sitting with me at lunch. I'm calling dibs." I laugh suddenly, quieting when a group of blonde girls eyes us up before turning away and whispering. "I think that's the one whose mom died, that's why she had to transfer."

My mood sours instantly, images of my mother lying in her casket flicking before my eyes in an instant. I take a sharp breath, keeping my face composed as the chatter start to pick back up.

"How about you shut the fuck up Kelsey? Or maybe let Professor Lange fill your mouth up again to keep you from spewing shit you shouldn't?" Jade bites out instantly, the girls eyes bulging out of her head before she whips back around. The side of her face bright red.

"Thought so." She growls out beside me, grabbing my hand that's wrapped far too tightly around my pen. "Brush it off, Serena. All these fuckers know how to do is talk."

I let go, leaning back in my chair and sinking in further. Just as lecture starts, I let my gaze roam around the room. Feeling eyes on the back of my head as I scan the rows.

And that's when I spot Zane sitting in the far corner, glaring at the back of Kelsey's head as he flicks a pocket knife open and closed.

I turn back quickly, Jade eyeing me for a brief moment before looking back at the female professor drone on.

Something warm and uneasy travels through my body. Not exactly fear, something sharper and more wanton.

Something I've never felt before, like I'm tether to the boy sitting in the back row. Who's watching the girl who brought up my mother with a hateful glare.

Looking back once more, my lips part when he's already staring right at me. The knife stilling in his hand as his deep green eyes take in every inch of my face, darkening slightly.

I bite my lip, and his eyes flash before I turn back to the front. Trying to settle the thumping in my chest while the rest of my body lights up. Buzzing with anticipation and need.

God, I have to pull myself together.

I'm lost in my head as I approach my locker, stuck on the way Zane was flicking his knife. Looking down and watching my feet when I hear the click of a padlock and metal squeaking the way my locker does.

I lock eyes with Hayden, his hands in his pockets and leaning against the metal next to mine, which is now wide open.

"Thought I'd get it for you, before you rip the door off the hinge." He winks and I can't keep the smile off my face. Rolling my eyes, I brush past him and switch out my books.

"You following me around?" I joke, seeing his eyes darken for a beat before shaking it off. "Something like that." He parrots his words from before and I laugh lightly.

"Oh, I don't think we're supposed to be talking." I say, eyeing him as he tilts his head like a puppy. "Really? And why is that." His smooth voice sends the butterflies fluttering through my belly again, what is it with these two?

"Zane gave me a warning yesterday, blocking me against the wall actually." I blush as I say the words, not judging or bothered at all by the thought of these two men doing things together. Maybe I'd even like to watch.

The fuck?

"Huh, did he now?" He says, smirking and taking my bag as I start to walk to the lab. Though he doesn't sound the least bit surprised.

"Yep." I say, popping the p loudly as he walks next to me, his fingers brushing mine then pulling away and I can't tell if it was intentional or not. "He said you belong to him, and-" I stop myself from finishing, too shy to finish the sentence.

"And..?" He stops just outside of my class, leaning against the frame as he waits.

"And that, he'd be willing to share.. if I will be his too." I swallow hard, shaking off the intensity of his eyes on mine.

"But, I think he's just being a jerk, or reading into things. And I'd never get in between anyone's relationship." Reaching for my bag on his shoulder, he grips the strap tighter.

The hall is partially empty, a few stragglers making their way to their classes last minute. And when it's only the two of us left his eyes scan the hall once more before leaning in suddenly.

I start to take a step back, but his long arm wraps around my waist and pulls me in gently. My eyes widen, my hands settling on his chest to push him away when something stops me.

His muscles are pronounced under my hands, bunching and tensing as he pulls me in closer. "Zane and I, we have a special bond. But it's not quite the scenario you're picturing."

His other hand grazes the skin of my neck, pushing my hair back and stroking the skin softly as he whispers close to my ear. "And there's nothing I'd like more than to have you between us."

Pulling back he looks into my eyes, smiling at whatever he sees there and letting me go slowly. "But for now, we have the same class for lab. Wanna be partners?" He winks, my bag still over his shoulder and his voice far steadier than I feel. I try to steady the blush on my face as he takes my hand and pulls me into the class.
