"Ugh... is this really a good idea, Engel?" Bubble questioned. "I don't want to be killed, sure, but this doesn't really seem that much better, you know."
Engel paused, also somewhat hesitant at the idea. However, he remained adamant that this was the only way. "Have any better ideas? I don't want to do this either."
"...No."
"M-Miss T-T-Thavel did say that no one w-w-who j-jumped down ever died..." Abbie added, choosing to also stare down the abyss. "S-so maybe it's okay...?"
"I can't think of anything else. We'll just be killed if we tried to rush the teachers," Claire agreed. "We have to do this, I think... What do you think, Lana?"
Lana blinked a couple times, blankly. "...This is the only way."
"Alright, it's settled then!" Engel exclaimed, grasping the handrails and tightening his grip as he prepared to jump. "Come on, let's g- Hey, what the-"
THWISH!
"Woah, woah, woah, HEY, WHAT ARE YOU-"
SWOOOoooo....
Engel and, not too long after, everyone else in the friend group, were suddenly sent hurling down the deep abyss by an unknown force. When the feathered demi-human frantically looked up as he was falling, he could barely make out the distinction of a shadowy, yet familiar, silhouette, but he was falling too fast and too hard for him to properly make out any details.
Right then and there, he was about to figure out whether it would have mattered or not...
...Although, it was taking a little while.
"WHY ARE WE STILL FALLING?!"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!"
"WOAAAAAAH!!!!"
"WEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!"
Bubble, Abbie, Claire, and Lana, exactly in that order, all yelped as they fell right there alongside Engel, seemingly also having been pushed down the pit by their common assailant. Right as he motioned to try and converge with the group in mid-air, however, it appeared that the ground came sooner than they all anticipated.
THUUUUD!!!!
THUUMP!!!!
THUUUD!!
THUUMP...!!

VROOOOM!!!
"Woah, that... that helped a lot. Way more than I thought it would—I'll have to make sure to thank Colt and Teck later, damn."
As the teacher came to a brief stop at a rather inconvenient red light, he rested an elbow on his middle console and then leaned his head against the connected hand, staring off into some far-off distance through the window. Somehow, the ten minutes he spent at that place was enough for him to almost completely rid himself of his dream-related dilemma.
It seemed unreal, but he was feeling just like his old self again. He wondered why he didn't think of this idea before, perhaps even inviting Rebecca before class had begun, but it didn't matter anymore-
BEEEP!!
He jerked his head up to see the light was green and almost floored the pedal.
"Close... I need to get my mind back into school-mode," he thought, a singular bead of sweat dropping from his forehead. Looking in front of him, he could see the school somewhat a short distance away, untouched and exactly as he left it. It no longer reminded him of his nightmare; rather, he just wondered how Rebecca and everyone else was doing. "Almost there."
