"Late... late, I'm so LATE!!!"
Rip found himself rushing to school as his head was infiltrated with thoughts and folly explanations on how he let this happen. He had no idea how he found himself so late to class, but the fact of the matter was that he was, and that he was running out of time. All of that time he spent training himself to wake up sharply at five in the morning was ruined, something he would have to fix later, but...
"Urgh..."
It also didn't help that his head was spinning madly. And for some otherworldly, ungodly reason, the world had also suddenly turned a deathly shade of red, an anomaly that, for another reason, didn't bother him as much as he would normally figure it should.
Eventually, he somehow made it to the school, the only sight in view.
But something was off.
The school's exterior seemed to be in an intense state of disrepair, deterioration that would regularly take years for something to get to such a state, but that couldn't be. Just yesterday, he thought, the school looked just fine-what the hell happened? What caused this? Why did it look like it was on the brink of collapse?
It was then he realised that he didn't know how he got there in the first place.
But such a thought was banished in moments-he had to investigate... for what else would he do?
The headaches began to become ever so more overbearing.
Carefully making his way to the ruined double doors, he tried pushing them open, but they were locked. It was strange; it should be school hours right now, but seeing the state of the school, he wasn't even sure what was happening anyway. A thought compelled him to keep going; he had a feeling that he would figure out what was going on soon.
As such, he backed away a little from the doors and then rushed into it with a shoulder slam, instantly throwing them open with surprising ease.
Raising his head, the sight that greeted him was horrifying.
Dozens of corpses.
Human and demi-human alike.
Innards ripped apart and strewn across the hallways, intestines wrapped around multiple students at once, scattered tendons and brains painting all nearby lockers a dark shade of crimson... eyeballs protruding from their sockets, lungs ripped apart and quartered, faces torn and barely recognisable, and finally, gallons of blood drenched across each and every inch of the hall.
There appeared to be no end to the brutal massacre that had unfolded before his eyes. The farther he looked, the worse it seemingly got.
A dreadful sense of fear filled his soul, and yet, he didn't react. An innate sense within commanded him to turn around and flee from the gruesome sight, lest he succumb to such a fate himself, but another told him to remain. To further investigate what might have caused all of this to happen on this day.
He was sickened, both by himself for having such thoughts and the sighted that greeted him; however, his curiosity got the best of him.
As he trudged and walked over the drained corpses that were littered on the floor, each step filled with hesitation and nervousness, the primary question at the forefront knocked at the front door. What the hell happened here? It should have just been a normal, unremarkable day-an otherwise inconspicuous, typical school day filled with budding students 'eager' to learn. And yet here he was, stepping over the lifeless bodies of those students.
