"S-sorry, but it's Thursday..."

"Ugh, dammit. Can this week go by any slower-"

BZZZZT!

CLICK!

In an instant, all of the illumination, all of the various light sources that filled the entirety of the library was snuffed out, causing a brief collective gasp shared between everyone within. Then, however, an uncomfortable silence replaced it, as if everyone had the same idea to not say anything whatsoever, not even a peep.

Even the crew only looked at each other in a vague sense of confusion.

What followed was something that could not be foreseen.

THWACK!!

The double doors that acted as the entrance and exit to the library was swung open with a huge force.

A brave, or stupid, student made the sudden decision to run up to the figure that stood at the foot of the door in the hopes of an explanation of what was going on. Engel, nor anyone else, couldn't hear what they said, but he knew the student wasn't able to get much out as they were then brutally eviscerated right in front of their eyes, cut horizontally straight through the stomach as the top half of the instantly deceased, disembodied corpse was flung upwards and right onto the table he and his friends were sitting at, blood trailing and all.

A huge uproar followed shortly.

The combined cries of dozens upon dozens of screaming students engulfed the room in hysteria, chaos ensuing without restriction; everyone scattered about within the room in a vain attempt to get away the moment the top half of the corpse hit the table. But Engel and his friends refused to move—whether it was out of fear or what, they just sat there, staring at the gruesome sight with unfiltered eyes. A student they didn't even know; their life was snuffed out like a match, thrown away in an instant.

A couple more unidentifiable figures joined the one that was stationed at the entrance, preventing any means of conventional escape.

It was only then Engel was able to mutter his first word since.

"What... what the fuck?!"

The others followed suit.

Bubble expectedly freaked out. "Oh my God. Oh my God. That's a head. That's a fucking head. That's a dead person. They're... they're..."

Abbie had it worst of all, recoiling backwards in his seat and falling onto the floor, transitioning into a sobbing mess.

Claire still seemed to be trying to process what was happening. "...H-huh? Wh-what? No... no, no, no, no..."

Lana had the most peculiar reaction, only staring at the corpse with a blank expression on her face.

Engel abruptly shot up from the table, twitching an eye in disgust at the scene unfolding right in front of his eyes. He then slammed a hand on the table, deliberately avoiding the upper half of the corpse. "Holy... f-fuck. Holy crap, okay, OKAY! We have to go. NOW. Come on!! Lana, Claire, Bubble, Abbie; get out of your minds!!"

Claire picked up her head from her intense deliberation and nodded feverishly, still trying to fathom what had just transpired. She proceeded to pull Bubble and Lana up from their minds, too, the latter of whom was still semi-unresponsive, seemingly in somewhat of a catatonic state. "Hey, hey, wake up! Bubble, help me out here with her!"

In the meanwhile, Engel kneeled beside Abbie and attempted to shake him out of his crying fit. "Abbie! Hey, Abbie! Get up, we're leaving! I've got no idea what's going on, but I'm not gonna let any of you die!"
