Mu Yuling groaned as her head throbbed. The air smelled damp, and something heavy was wrapped around her waist.

She blinked her eyes open.

Familiar stone ceiling and lickering torchlight.

Her stomach dropped. She knew that ceiling.

Slowly, she looked down.

Shei Long was curled around her, his snake tail coiled possessively over her legs, his head resting against her shoulder like they were some kind of twisted couple.

Mu Yuling's scream ripped through the temple.

"GET OFF!"

She jammed the taser into his side and shocked him without hesitation.

ZZZZT!

Shei Long jerked awake with a hiss, his body convulsing before he collapsed onto the stone floor twitching. Mu Yuling scrambled backward, putting as much distance between them as possible.

Her heart pounded.

How is she back here?!

Just minutes ago, she was on a flying ship.

Shei Long groaned, pushing himself up on his elbows. His hair was a mess. "Must you keep doing that?" he grumbled, rubbing his side.

Mu Yuling grabbed a loose rock from the ground, ready to throw. "Stay back!"

Shei Long sighed, flicking his tongue out in irritation. "If you keep electrocuting me, my instincts will only get worse," he warned. "I might not be able to control myself next time."

Mu Yuling shuddered. "That's not my problem!"

Shei Long's eyes narrowed. "Where did you go earlier?" he asked suddenly.

"You disappeared when you fell into the water." he continued, slithering a little closer. "It wasn't even deep. Then thirty minutes later, you fell from the ceiling again."

"I don't have to explain anything to you!" Mu Yuling snapped, cutting him off. "Especially not a perverted snake who won't keep his hands or tail to himself!"

Shei Long pouted "I was worried about you" he muttered.

Mu Yuling didn't care.

If falling into the water had sent her to that other place... maybe it could happen again.

Before Shei Long could react, she lunged for the pool.

"Wait!" he shouted.

But it was too late.

Mu Yuling jumped in headfirst.

The water swallowed her whole.
