Scene: Present day, hospital rooftop, late night. Rain streaks the glass. Auren, soaked, stares down at the city below.
He stands in his white coat, unmoving, as behind him the door slams open.
Serian:
"Auren—what are you doing up here? You'll get sick."
Auren doesn't turn.
Auren (quietly):
"You ruined me."
Serian steps forward, umbrella in hand, as if they were still close. Still lovers. As if Auren hadn't spent the past week watching his name turn to ash.
Auren (shaking now):
"My friends—my friends—call me a whore. A liar. They think I cheated on Mai, that I seduced you for money or position. You let them believe I was the one who forged the papers. You told my parents that I did this to you."
Serian says nothing. The rain drums on the rooftop, steady and soft.
Auren (bitter laugh):
"All I did was talk to you. I thought we were catching up. I didn't know that nurse was yours, or that the clipboard held a marriage certificate instead of surgical waivers. You timed it perfectly. Distract me, get me to sign. And now it's legal. Now I'm yours."
Serian (lowly):
"You are. And you always were, Auren. You just didn't realize it until I helped you see."
Auren turns sharply now, eyes blazing.
Auren:
"You tricked me. You drugged my career, strangled my reputation, and then wrapped your name around mine like a noose. I was going to be head of trauma surgery in two years. I had someone I loved. And you—"
He cuts himself off, breath hitching.
Serian (gently):
"She didn't deserve you. You would've burned yourself out for her, for those hospitals that only used you. But with me? You'll live longer. You'll live better."
Auren steps back.
Auren:
"No, Serian. With you, I'm a prisoner. You didn't marry me. You kidnapped me."
The scene ends with Auren walking away into the storm, coat fluttering behind him, and Serian watching—expression unreadable.
