You pushed you chair back and got up, throwing your tools down.
"I just want to have some fun with my friends. I don't get the big deal."
"The big deal?! You came home, smilling like alcohol last week. You know that you're not old enough to drink! Tell me what's going on." He said, raising his voice slightly.
You just wanted to escape. This conversation was making you uncomfortable. You didn't want to gell him what was going on. It was best if he didn't know.
"Can you let it go? I promise I'll check my phone more when I'm out." You spoke while heading towards the exit of the lab.
"Don't you walk away!" Tony almost yelled at you, losing his temper.
You turned around, annoyed.. angry even. You crossed your arms and stared at him.
"I don't know what you want from me! Just leave me alone, dad! I've tried my best!"
You pushed through the doors and hurried upstairs, slamming your bedroom door. Tony walked upstairs after you, meeting Pepper in the kitchen.
"That didn't go well, did it?" She asked.
Tony sat down at the kitchen table, still frustrated.
"I have no idea how to talk to her anymore."
Tony buried his head in his hands and took a moment to gather his thoughts. Pepper walked over to him and sat down next to him.
"I'm just worried about her.. but she doesn't understand. At all."
It was true. He really was. What if you were hanging out with the wrong kind of people? Getting into trouble? You used to be his sweet little girl. Pepper looked at him and rubbed his back.
"Maybe you should tell her that, instead of yelling." Pepper suggested.
Tony nodded and got up. He walked upstairs, quietly. He stopped at your room and gently knocked.
"What?" He heard you say, grumpy as always.
He slowly opened the door and leaned against the door frame.
"Hey, kiddo."
He hadn't called you that in ages. You looked up at him. His voice was calming, soothing. Like you were little again.
"Hey.. dad." You spoke.
He walked into your room and closed the door behind him.
"Move over, I want to sit." He said.
You moved over and leaned against your headboard. He sat down besides you, doing the same. He looked at you, not sure how this was going to go.
"Are you okay?" He just asked.
"Yes." You shrugged.
Tony stared at your door, causing you to look at him.
"I'm really worried about you, kiddo. I don't mean to get that angry." He said. "Please just talk to me."
You didn't answer and turned your head forwards again, staring at the wall and clenching your jaw.
"I can't." You just said.
"You can always talk to me. I raised you like that. You know that."
You looked back up at him, your mask slowly breaking. The truth was that you had been holding back too many emotions. You were avoiding all of it.
"I know but I don't want to me you feel bad." You said, you're voice breaking slightly.
"What you're doing now.. staying up late, not knowing where you are.. drinking, avoiding me. That's making me feel bad." He said. "And it's frustrating me, making me worry."
You never wanted that. Although, deep inside, you knew that was the effect of your actions.
"I just.. Peppers, due date is really soon." You spoke, your voice softer. "I don't have a mother. She left me with you. I already know Pepper is going to love my sister more than me." You shrugged. "And when I was little, you worked a lot.. you slept around until you met Peppers. I didn't see a whole lot of you until I got older. The new baby, she's going to have everything." You choked.
Tony looked at you, a little shocked. He had no idea you felt that way. He thought you were happy to be a big sister. Before he knew it, he watched you wipe tears from your cheek.
"I know I wasn't the best dad. But I have tried to make up for it. Pepper, she loves you so much. I love you so much. You're an amazing kid. I will not love you or your sister more. You're both my kids and I will be the best dad I can be.. for both of you."
You looked at him. Tony wiped a tear from your cheek.
"You'll always be my little girl. I'm sorry if I wasn't the dad you deserved when you were little."
"You were.. you taught me so much. I shouldn't be ungrateful. I'm just nervous and scared."
"I understand that. I do. But please, we can use this time to be together. Just the three of us." He said. "I promise you, we can make the best of it until your sister arrives."
You just nodded.
"I love you, dad. I'm sorry."
"I love you too, kiddo."

You headed into the delivery, nervous to meet your new sister. You headed inside and saw her, in your father's arms. He was smiling proudly, looking at her.
"Y/N, hey." Pepper smiled, exhausted.
You looked at her and walked over to her. You hugged her tightly.
"Hey.." you started, stopping for a moment. "Mum." You said.
She looked up at you, smiling brightly. Tony looked at Pepper, giving her a nod of approval. You walked over to your father, looking at the tiny baby in his arms. He looked at you as you approached.
"Hey Kiddo." He smiled.
You came a little closer watching your tiny sister. You smiled as you saw her cute little face.
"Hi Morgan." You smiled. "Welcome to the world."
Tony smiled and walked towards Pepper. He handed Morgan to her and then gave you a big hug. You smiled and held him tightly.
"I love you." You said to him. "I'll take care of her. Like a real big sister."
"I love you too, that will never change."
