~ EIGHTY THREE ~

- 2 years later -

"Do you find the defendant guilty of domestic abuse" the Judge spoke and the whole room went quiet.

"Guilty your honor"

"Do you find the defendant guilty of kidnapping and endangering Reese Gray"

"Guilty your honor"

"Finally, Do you find the defendant guilty of the attempted murder of Reese Gray"

"Guilty your honor"

As soon as the juror finished speaking the whole crowd cheered. Finally after a year of Ashley being on the run, we found her and obviously I had her arrested there and then.

They then took another year to get the court case set up and let me tell you she didn't stand a chance against Reese lawyer. When we realised there was going to be a court hearing to find out whether she was going to jail, We had to try and find a really good lawyer. Somehow, Reese knew one instantly and called him up.

About 2 hours after the call, he met us in a cafe and we went over everything. Thank god she is smart. After I gave her my phone she had taken some videos and somehow pressed record when the phone was in her pocket on her way home, recording everything Ashley was saying to her.

"I heathy find the Defendant 45 years in maximum security" the judge wacked his hammer against the podium and 2 officers came towards Ashley who was sat at the front in an orange jumpsuit.

Before leaving the room she looked back to us. You would think she would be crying since she has just been convicted of life but no. She was smirking. A fucking evil smirk.

- 3 months later -

Today is the day. The day that I'm proposing to Reese. Yes you heard it right. We have been dating for a year now but if you add that with how long we have dated before it's coming up to 4 years.

She's so much happier recent, everyweek on Thursday she goes to therapy which afterwards she's always upset or not there emotionally but it's something that we are working on. Plus she has probably been through one of the most traumatic thing in her life.

I pulled into a small venue staff car park and loaded up Reese contact "I'm outside angel" I said and she came running around the corner with a huge smile on her face.

We greeted each other with a massive hug before walking hand in hand into the venue. Reese ended up getting another job as security but she wasn't ready to do huge venues like that the ones I have preformed in so today we are testing out a small one to see how she copes.

We have someone on standby to take her place just in case she can't deal but I can guarantee she will.

"Everyone move out the way please" she said and everyone moved out of the way give me space to walk through.

We got to the Venue and gave the tech guy a memory stick with a very important video on it.

The time has come. As I'm singing and dancing around I can't help but feel nervous. I mean I'm shitting myself at the thought. That's right tho. I'm going to propose in front of everyone.

"Reese can you come here a moment" I said and she nodded. Someone jumped down taking her place before she pulled herself up onto the stage.

I pulled 2 bean bags onto the stage and faced them towards a projector which just came down.

"Reese we are ever so glad that you are okay and everything came out okay in the end. For an update for everyone watching, about 4 months ago we won a life changing court case meaning her abuser is locked away for pretty much her whole life" the prerecorded message of me played and everyone cheered. Obviously they knew the situation but no one knew about the court case, let alone what happened to Ashley.

"I hope you have a couple of minutes to just watch this video, and to Reese I love you" The projector cut to photos of us from the start to end of our relationship. Whether it was when I was 17 or from yesterday, a variety of photos and videos were on there.

"Reese" Claudia and Finn spoke on the video " I knew from the moment we saw you, you.were perfect for Billie. I mean you are the only one who willing puts up with her." I gave Finn a death stare who is now standing on the side of the stage. "And when I saw in the restaurant after we haven't seen you for months, we knew we had to talk to you. I'm so glad we did because if we didn't god knows what would have happened." Claudja said and it cut to my mom and dad talking. I got up and headed over to Finn.

Reese looked over worried, to see me holding hip a bottle of water before drinking it. She put her attention back in the screen. "I'm shitting it Finn" I said and he reassured me. "Bils you know she is going to say yes I mean you are perfect for each other" he said before handing over the ring box which I put in my short pocket.

I walked back onto the stage carrying 2 bottles of water before passing one to Reese. The video cut out and now Klara is on.

"Hiya mammy" Klara said smiling. "It's me. I love you so much and I've missed your bedtime stories. Mama doesn't do the voices as good as you"  she said, I looked over to see a tear fall down Reese face. "Thank you for coming back and wanting to play Barbie's and mermaids with me" the video cut to Klara sitting on the grass in out back garden. This is my sign. I got up and stood by Reese.

"Mammy, mama loves you so so much and she doesn't cry anymore." You can see Klara looking behind the camera at me before yelling"mama I don't want to say it you do it"

There was a sigh before the camera turned around to show me from a couple of days ago "Reese. My love. I am so grateful to have you back in my life and I'm so glad..."

Mid sentence Klara comes running in the background cutting me off "mammy, will you marry mama?" she said.

Reese has a shocked look on her face, she looked at me to see I'm on one knee holding out a ring. She stood up and looked at me like she was about to cry. Well that was until she realised I had used the ring she gave to me as a promise ring 3 years ago. Of course I kept it and of course I have her own ring on the side of the stage but I thought it would be cute to show her how I still have it.

She nodded before I bring her into a hug and everyone in the crowd starts cheering. Finn grabbed a mic, turning it on before speaking into it "Let's give it up for the to be Mrs & Mrs O'Connell" the crowd roared and that's when I realised, I have the girl of my dreams.
