(3) THE INTRODUCTION

The breeze was light, carrying the faint scent of old books and campus grass.

Students gathered near the front gate, voices fading into the background - but Y/N heard none of it.

Because her eyes...
were locked with his.

Taehyung.

He was walking slowly with Jungkook and Jimin, heading toward the main gate.
But unlike the others - his gaze didn't wander.
It didn't scan the crowd.

It stayed.
On her.

And she -
She couldn't look away.

Their feet kept moving, but their hearts stood still.
There was something in his eyes - not curiosity, not surprise -
but a quiet recognition.
As if he knew her.
As if some part of him had loved her before.

Thump... thump... thump.

Time faded.
The world dulled.
Only the thread between their eyes remained, glowing faint like a silver string under moonlight.

Until-

bump!

Someone brushed hard against Y/N's shoulder as they passed, jolting her out of that stillness.

She gasped softly, blinking back into reality.

And then-
"Y/N-ah!"
Jungkook's voice called warmly from a few steps away.

Her heart was still racing as she looked toward her brother.

He stood near the gate with his friends, waving her over casually.

Y/N began walking toward them, but the weight of Taehyung's gaze still lingered on her skin.

She glanced up - and saw him still looking at her.
Even as Jimin said something beside him, Taehyung didn't turn his head.

Y/N swallowed gently and looked down again.

That feeling on the back of her neck...

Warm. Alive.

She reached them quietly. Jungkook smiled, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"This is my little Moon-ah, sorry-Y/N," he said, chuckling at his mistake. "We've called her Moon since she was small."

Taehyung's head turned just slightly.

Moon.

He didn't mean to speak - but the name slipped out of him.

"Moon..." he whispered under his breath.
Soft.
Almost reverent.

His eyes blinked once, as if awakening from something hazy. Then he stepped forward slightly and spoke more clearly.

"Nice to meet you, Y/N."

Y/N bowed politely, her voice calm but her chest trembling.

"Nice to meet you too."

Then she turned slightly and greeted the other boy beside him.

"Nice to meet you, Jimin-ssi."

Jimin grinned warmly and gave a half bow in return. "Same to me. Y/niee"

Taehyung's eyes flicked toward her one more time.

And though nothing more was said-
the pull between them remained.

Quiet. Unnamed.
But very, very real.

The soft hum of the car engine filled the silence between them.
Y/N sat beside her brother in the passenger seat, eyes gazing out the window.
