I didn't expect much when Connor Sharpe followed me back.
Just some random notification while hanging out with my best friend.
But one simple "hi" turns into something neither of us saw coming.
A couple of years apart, different grades, and a millio...

The screen was still buzzing with chaotic laughter. Connor was red in the face, Jake had completely leaned back in his chair laughing, Aidan was halfway out of frame asking if they had Oreos in the pantry, and Yumi had literal tears in her eyes from laughing at my embarrassment.
“This is so embarrassing,” I muttered, clutching Yumi’s pillow and burying half my face in it.
Connor smiled through the camera, clearly enjoying my struggle. “It’s not embarrassing. I mean, a little,” he teased, “but in a cute way.”
“Wow,” Yumi said, smirking. “That sounded like a flirt, Sharpe.”
Jake chimed in. “We should just get you guys married at this point. Want me to book the venue?”
Connor rolled his eyes dramatically. “Okay, everyone relax.”
Aidan leaned over Connor’s shoulder. “You know what would actually be fun?”
“No,” Connor said quickly, but Aidan ignored him.
“Let’s just all meet up. I mean, we’re literally in the same town. What are we even doing talking through our phones?”
Jake perked up. “I’m down. We can all meet at the coffee place near the mall.”
Yumi looked at me with that you-better-say-yes stare. “Come on, Y/N. You’ve already FaceTimed him half asleep in pajamas, what’s a little in person awkwardness?”
I hesitated for about two seconds before nodding slowly. “Okay. But Laura’s coming too. I’m not showing up alone.”
Jake gave a thumbs-up. “Perfect"
Connor smiled again this time more genuine, more excited. “So… we’re really doing this?”
“1 hour,” Aidan said. “Everyone meet at BrewBean Café. No bailing. No excuses.”
Yumi grinned. “We’ll be there.”
Jake hung up the call first. I smiled to myself as the screen went black.
I exhaled, clutching the phone to my chest.
“Okay,” I said. “That just happened.”
Yumi grabbed my arm. “We need to get ready right now.”

45 minutes later…
Yumi and I started getting ready. I threw on a pair of baggy jeans even though it's summer and a cute-but-not-too-try-hard top, while Yumi went for her classic soft girl aesthetic.
We picked up Laura on the way. When she got in the car and we explained everything, she almost dropped her iced tea in shock.
“Wait, wait, same school? You FaceTimed? And we're meeting him now?”
