Avery POV

"Sorry I'm late." I told my manager before clocking in.

"Not surprising. Try to be on time more often Mr. Montgomery." He said. I nodded and walked out to the floor.

Unlike most people, I like my job. Working at Footlocker ain't that bad. I'm interested in shoes and I'm social and can definitely get someone to buy a pair of shoes. The job is pretty easy. It puts money in my pockets.

"Welcome to Footlocker. Can I help you?" I asked this cute female that just walked into the store. She looked at me and smiled.

"Yeah. I'm looking for a good pair of running shoes that would also look cute on me." She said, smiling at me the whole time.

"Alright. Well personally, I find that the Freeruns 4.0 are very comfortable." I said, bringing down a pair of black and white ones for her.

"I already have these. I want different ones." She said. I nodded and put the shoes back.

"There are always the Roshe runs. Even though they are worn more for style these days, they are originally running shoes. It's a plus that they are light weight and comfortable." I said.

"I have those but I want to get them. Do you guy have all black ones?" She asked.

"I'm gonna check the back for you." I said then walked away.

"I see you my man." My co worker Josh said. I chuckled and shook my head.

He followed me to the back as I looked for the pair of sneakers.

"So are you gonna get that phone number?" He asked, nudging my arm with his shoulder.

"Nah man. I peeped a tramp stamp tattoo and you know I ain't with all that." I said shaking my head.

"I forgot you like them good girls that go to church and save themselves until marriage." He teased.

"Shit, that would be nice but not necessarily. I just don't fuck any type of bitch. But Josh, take these shoes for her and have a go at her." I said. I laughed at the sudden excitement on his face.

I shook my head and walked behind him as we went back to the front. The girl was really expecting me to come back to her and look disappointed to have Josh bring her the shoes.

I laughed to myself but stopped once I heard a commotion from the other side of the shop. I walked over to see wassup and couldn't believe it.

"Bitch did I ask for all black shoes or did I ask for the white pair? See, this is why fat bitches don't work in stores like this. All that French fry grease done clogged up your brain, right? White shoes bitch, WHITE!" He yelled. I could tell my co worker was about to cry.

I walked over and told her I got it for her. I chuckled a little once she left.

"Finally I have a real salesman to help me out. How you been A?" Tyrese asked, dapping me up.

"I've been good Uncle Ty. Why you at my job acting a damn fool?" I asked him.

"Shit, that girl done pissed me off. Bringing the wrong color shoes. What she needs to do is get some glasses and a treadmill." He said. I shook my head at his crazy comments.

"Aight man. But wassup? Why are you really here?" I asked. This nigga don't buy shoes in the store, that I know.

"I'm here with Ant and his daughter. I decided to pop in to your job. We just left your house before coming here." He said. I sighed and shook my head.
