Hi guys! This is my first book ever, and I'm sooooo excited to write it. This is a Kotlc fanfiction, and if you haven't read the series "Keeper of the lost cities," then I'm afraid it might be a little hard for you to catch up, but don't worry, I'll try to explain everything along the way. Since this is my first fanfic, I would appreciate if you could point out any mistakes in the comments, but no hate, please. If you haven't read the books, then I am going to give you a character description; if you have read the books, then you can just skip this part. Also, all author notes will say "A/N" in the beginning, and they will be bold like this one.
Background/history: As a part of Project Moonlark, the Black Swan genetically altered Sophie's DNA before birth, giving her a combination of different but powerful abilities. They implanted her in a human woman to be raised as part of the Foster family. She lived in San Diego as part of this family for the first twelve years of her life. After a boy named Fitz Vacker found and revealed that she was an elf, she moved to the Lost Cities and was placed under the guardianship of the Ruewens. After a complicated adoption process, they adopted her at the end of the first book.
Sophie currently attends Foxfire for levels two, three, and four. She temporarily attended in Exillium with her friends after their banishment.
Additional notes:
Sophie Foster has more abilities than normal due to being a genetic experiment. The council doesn't know how many more she will be able to manifest. Sophie can also read cipher runes and she is exceptionally talented. She has a habit of ripping out her eyelashes when she is nervous, and she can't sleep without a bright blue stuffed elephant named Ella.

Keefe Irwin Sencen is one of the main characters in the Kotlc series. He is a member of the Black Swan and a former member of the Neverseen (Bad guys) . He joined the Neverseen as a double agent in an attempt to infiltrate it and tear it down from the inside, as well as to sneak information to the Black Swan.
Keefe is the only child of Lord Cassius Sencen and Lady Gisela Sencen. He is best friends with Fitz Vacker and has shown that he's always wished he was a Vacker — to the point of him seeing the Vackers as his family, and as such spends a lot of time with them. He has family issues, as his father was both verbally and emotionally abusive, while his mother, a member of the Neverseen before Keefe was even born, treats him as a pawn in her overarching plan after lying to him for years. His mother, however, has shown fake kindness to him multiple times in the books. Keefe still shows how his mother didn't say anything when Lord Cassius abused Keefe. In Exile , he admits to Sophie that he often hides behind his jokes and teasing, and he uses them to pretend everything is okay, although deep down it's not; making jokes and teasing people are his coping mechanisms.
Keefe has a crush on Sophie. As of Stellarlune, she has been confirmed to return his feelings.
