"Charlie!" Yelled mum from the door "yes?' I said groggily "wake up! We are moving today c'mon!" Crap I forgot, I slowly got up brushing my teeth lazily suddenly, it hit me like a freight train "I'm moving today!" I grabbed a towel and took a shower hoping the hot water could wash away the stress. However it didn't, I was practically shaking, I had lived at our quaint little house on mulberry lane for my entire life and now we were moving to some urban street in Perth. To a new school away from all my friends?! I personally hated it the would also be nowhere to go, to explore, to discover secrets no one else knew, I hated it. Knowing what I did now I would've jumped at the idea, but alas,I had no clue.
The rest of the day was a blur of boxes, the last to be packed and honestly I felt numb, walking through a place I had know my whole life, and to now see that empty, my home empty, devoid of what made it... home, scared me. Night wasn't better either the car that had taken me everywhere my whole life lined with boxes, a 7 hour journey ahead of us, I was terrified. The outback was as desolate as always, as the road stretched on and so did my anger, anger at dad, anger that we had to move for his stupid new job, for his stupid new income, it made me mad.
The new house sucked, sure it was bigger but honestly that didn't even bother me my room was a sterile beige room that lacked the personality my old room had, the house was to modern, and everything felt huge, the back yard was just a stretch of grass with a marble sitting area the entire day I was bombarded with questions "so how do you like it?" is your room nice?" "How is the hot water?" And every time I answered how I was expected to "ohh I love it" "yes its great" "the water is perfect" when in reality I hated the house, my room felt eerily empty even with all my stuff in it, and the water felt to perfect like it was suited just to me to an uncomfortable extent.
It wasn't until I sunset that I saw The House beautiful rays of golden sun lay down on its entrance it faded blue beamy weathered yet grandeur in style gave it an elegant look however apon closer look... the house was off its beams whilst beautiful rotted, mold formed around its entrance, paint scraped of the walls, windows cracked, blinds broken, the house was a marvelous disaster.
As I stared I saw a girl my age, around 14, walk up the steep drive way and to the steps of the interest "Hi there!" I yelled. She flinched at the sound and as she looked up at me her eyes widened. In a tone I could barely hear she spoke "hi there.." she then walked noticeably faster to the entrance before knocking on the door. A tall rough man opened the door ushering her inside, he had a beard that reached his stomach and a buzz cut, tattoos lined his arms reaching almost every piece of skin visible, a large scar covered the left side of his face, he seemed to basically push the girl inside before shooting me a glare that could cut steel, before entering after the girl "odd neighbors," I said under my breath.
