Steve Rogers x reader ~ all I ever wanted (Smut)

Steve watched you walk away. He turned around and put your helmet away before putting his own helmet on.

You decided to just head home. Today had been enough. You couldn't believe you sacrificed everything for him. You were stupid.

''I thought you were going with Steve.''

You turned around and saw Pepper. She looked at your red eyes and hugged you right away.

''What's going on?'' She asked.

''He's going back to Peggy.'' You just said.

You told Pepper and Natasha about your crush and they always told you stay hopeful. Especially since Steve had been in your time for a long time.

''I'm so sorry.'' She said.

''It isn't about me right now.'' You said. ''You go back and focus on today. I'm just going home.''

You let Pepper go and smiled at her before leaving.

Steve had brought away all the infinity stones and found a quiet spot to go back to his past. He grabbed his pocketwatch and looked at the picture he had of Peggy. He actually hadn't looked at it in awhile.

He checked his pockets for items that he couldn't bring into the past. He still had his flip phone on him that Tony could call. He opened it and a picture popped up.

Even though his phone was old it did have a front camera and you used it to make a very low quality selfie with Steve. But he had always loved the picture.

He looked at your face and suddenly thought back about how broken you were. His head started thinking back about everything you had done for him.

He looked at the button he had to press to travel back into time. He was going to press it. His mind was set to it but his body didn't press it.

Steve sighed and looked back at the picute of Peggy. He suddenly realised that he didn't even feel anything for her anymore. He was just afraid to get close to you. Afraid that he was going to loose you like he lost Peggy and by saying he was going back to Peggy he lost you.

He sighed in frustration. He was angry at himself. He was doing everything wrong. He threw his pocket watch and flipphone on the floor and he pressed his button.

He returned back where he started. He stepped out of the machine and threw off his helmet and he rushed inside.

''Pepper.''

She turned around.

''Steve?'' She asked in confusion. ''I thought you were-''

''I'll explain it later. Where is Y/N?''

''She went home.''

Steve hurried into the bathroom and got changed into his own clothes. He then rushed outside and got onto his motorcycle. Luckily he knew where you lived.

You had arrived home awhile ago and had already changed into your pyjamas. You were just sitting on the couch and watching TV under a blanket.

You tried to forget about what happened but you hadn't stopped crying since you got home. Your phone was laying besides you. You tried to deleted all the videos and foto's you had with him but it just gave you a mental breakdown and you never got to hit delete.

Suddenly your doorbell rang. You wiped your cheeks and got up to open the door. As soon as you opened the door you looked straight at Steve. You were in shock. You didn't expect this.

He looked into your red, puffy eyes. You looked away from him and wiped your eyes again but you knew you couldn't hide it.

''What are you doing here?'' You asked.
