Q. Name your top three favorite genres and writers (both on Wattpad and beyond).
with-love-rose:
Top 3 favourite genres: Horror, Mystery/Thriller, Teen Fiction.
Top 3 favourite writers: Ruskin Bond, Suzanne Collins, Veronica Roth.
Q. How did you first discover Wattpad, and what inspired you to start sharing your stories on this platform?
with-love-rose: I discovered Wattpad whilst browsing through Miraculous Fan-Fics on Reddit. Inspired by these fan-fictions, I wrote my first story on Wattpad on my fan-fic account: AngeBlancRose. Later I proceeded to write original stories on my writing account: with-love-rose that are set in an Indian high school since I liked reading teen fiction books but not many contained Indian characters/settings.
Q. Do you write in a specific Indian language or dialect? How does the choice of language impact your storytelling and audience reach?
with-love-rose: I sometimes include some phrases in Hindi/Bengali in my book: The Downsides Of Popularity, since my MC is also Bengali and the story is set in Kolkata. The choice of language I seldom use helps other people know more about the languages I speak in and also helps Indian readers connect with the story better!
Q. Do you have any quirky writing habits, like a specific drink, a lucky pen or a strange ritual you follow before you start writing?
with-love-rose: When writing a story, I always find a comfortable pace to sit and read the previous chapter before continuing to write the next one. It helps me to get back into my story and ensure my writing style flows well without interruptions!
Q. Where do you draw inspiration for your stories, and how do you cultivate creativity in your writing process?
with-love-rose: I draw inspirations from stories I've read or heard of and sometimes even from my own experiences to make it look as realistic as possible.
Q. If you could collaborate with any other Indian writer, who would it be and what kind of story would you create together?
with-love-rose: Definitely Ruskin Bond! I've grown up reading his books and he definitely sparked my interest in writing stories of my own. He's an incredible writer who can describe Nature so beautifully and also weave in mysterious elements into his works. I'd definitely like to write a mystery/thriller story taking place in the wonderful landscapes of India, with him if I ever get a chance to <3
