The room is dark.

But not empty.

Micah takes one step forward — and everything flickers.

Not light.
Not fire.
Memory, burning on loop.

He sees himself at the moment it all began —
The field.
The storm.
The scream.

But this version doesn't flinch.

This Micah walks into the lightning.

And doesn't come out.

He turns.
And there he is.

The one that burned.

Blackened hoodie. Hollow eyes. Skin that flickers like exposed film.
He moves without motion — each step making the room crackle with heat that shouldn't exist.

Micah doesn't speak.

Neither does he.

But when their eyes meet, it happens:

**All of it.**

The split.
The anchor.
The fold.
The drift.

The pain.
The longing.
The echoes of Rae.
The vanishing of Wren.
The Core.

Micah stumbles under the weight — as if memory has mass now.
The burned version kneels beside him.

And then, finally, he speaks:

**"You've come to end it."**

Micah breathes, "I came to remember."

The Burned nods.

"And do you?"

Micah closes his eyes.

And says nothing.

But inside him, something locks into place.

Not peace.

Acceptance.

The Burned Micah lifts his hand.

Inside his palm: a glowing shard of static glass — broken from the Core.

It hums like a tuning fork made of time.

Micah takes it.

And as soon as he does, the Burned begins to vanish —
not into ash,
but into him.

Their timelines fuse.

And suddenly, Micah remembers everything he forgot to survive.

The real reason he created the Drift.

The real cost of coming back.

The Core isn't just watching.

It's waiting.

For one final version of him to *finish what he started.*

He opens his eyes.

The room is gone.

He is standing at the edge of a storm —
but this time, it's not lightning.

It's language.

Words built from thunder.
Sentences shaped from wind.
And one message carved across the sky in burning letters:

**YOU ARE THE LAST THREAD.**

He steps into the storm.

And the world begins to rewrite around him.
